Even though it's sort of the Dragon Ball formula for the next villain to be stronger than the last does anyone think they'll actually make Freeza stronger than Beerus in this movie?

I never buy into that formula since several villains that the Z fighters fought are consider weaker then some of the villains in the past. If Freeza becomes stronger then a SSjG then I hope he won't kill off Beerus and Whis. Those two are the best original characters we had in a while in my opinion.

I hope Whis question to Goku being the next God of Destruction when Beerus dies wasn't teasing this.

Not amongst major villains though. You get a few secondary villains who show up just prior to a major villain that will be weaker than the previous major villain but that's about it.

Tagamo and Sorbet won't be as strong as Beerus but the usual formula would have meant Frieza would eventually become the strongest yet. I don't see it happening this time though.

According to that site the movie will be showing at the Shibuya Toei theatre, that's only a couple miles away from the hotel I'll be staying at.

If the movie can stay in theatres for at least 3 weeks then I'd actually be able to go see it.

When thats the condition, he's usually one-shotted away. If hes supposed to be a threat now, he's going to kill someone. Hopefully its the Z fighters he didn't kill on Namek already.

The big question is how he gets the power. It would be strange if it was just wished upon him instead of having to forgo a ritual like Goku did. Unless theres a wish that brings his family back to perform the ritual or something I dont quite get how hes gonna achieve the god form.

I really hope thats not the case. The thought of the Cold family or Freeza and King Cold + 4 extra soldiers holding hands as 5 evil hearted aliens....

I'd say the these minions already figured out how they will make their master a God, or Freeza will be reborn as a God(it's pretty implied that Freeza will be revived in a different life-form than he used to be), or the minions will trick Goku and steal his god powers and used that energy to upgrade Freeza.
But do not think that statement was intentionally made by Toriyama, but now that can be a plot-device to use. And Toriyama said in an interview after BOG's debute that he didn't think of any continuation, so I don't think that Toriyama had then this story in mind or an idea of it.

I could see something hopefully along the lines of Wrath of the Dragon with and how Hildigarn was revived, or Garlic Jr's plan to revive his father could be a fair premise.

The plot of Wrath of the Dragon. Freeza Soldier = Hoi/Garlic, and Freeza returning is Hildigarn in how. Maybe the Z fighters get tricked somehow and open up some interdimensional Deadzone-esc element and Freeza returns.

Does anyone think that Tagoma's 'new-gen' scouter will be able to pick up some of the Z fighter's current power levels, or do you think the scouter will just disintegrate when they begin powering up, like all the others?

Oddly enough, scouters aren't shown to explode when displaying high levels; they explode when scanning rapidly increasing levels. For all we know, a scouter could read SSJ Goku if he's just standing around.

I hope so. All the years of the internet inflating and deflating the power levels of character after the Freeza Arc have been an issue and have lead to people being misinformed. Maybe we'll finally get some closure and know exactly what the numbers are for certain characters and transformation.

You're waaaay too optimistic. Releasing new numbers at this point would cause a civil war amongst the battle power crowd. Half of them would insist that "the numbers are cannon because akira said so," while the other half would be violently frothing at the mouth because "his numbers don't make since because in volume 17 chapter 3 this number was so and so and he overpowered a guy who was so and so so a difference of .035 is all that's needed for a stomp." It would be a nightmare.

I agree that PLs probably won't be given, but I'd still really like to see it happen... Primarily for the fan-frenzy that would inevitably ensue(as I honestly don't think Akira would have the PLs nearly as high as most fans do.) #WatchTheWorldBurn

It would be really really awesome if Toriyama could be trusted to make them accurate compared to the increase in strength of the characters as they have progressed in the story since the discontinuation of power levels. However unfortunately its extremely unlikely he would be able to do so, an would likely just end up pissing a lot of people off lol.

I honestly don't see the issue or the need of giving new powerlevels. It wouldn't cause a dramatic change in the story. But at least I think it would be interesting to see Toriyama's perspective about his characters and bring some nostalgia back on the early Freeza Arc.
