Freeza never did see Vegeta again in the manga after he killed him (or did he? Was that short bit anime only?); I want to see that confrontation.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Beerus and Freeza need to fight in some way. Ego vs Ego. The true God of destruction! Who takes the title?

If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Freeza seeing Trunks in the movie would be cool. Freeza would remember Trunks for killing him and be confused on why he looks much younger. Freeza did meet Adult Gohan in Fusion Reborn but the movie is likely going to ignore that movie though.Sin wrote:So what interactions are people most looking forward to? Does Japan ever attach movie trailers in front of movies like we do in America? Kamen Rider Gaim X Drive comes out in December and the Winter Rider films do pretty well over there. I wonder if Toei will release a trailer attach to that film since Toei owns the rights to both franchises in Japan.

This, Toei made M12, this is AT's work like BoG was. This and BoG are considered continuations of the manga by AT.Bullza wrote:Well, Freeza did meet "grown up" Gohan in movie 12. I wonder if they'll have Freeza mention this. Probably not...

You know how the Z Fighters were way weaker than Freeza on Namek but they used strategy and their brains to one-up Freeza's army and eventually pose a threat to him? I think it will be Freeza's turn to do that this time around. He is the weak one but he and Sorube and Tagoma will use theirs brains to sneak around and find whatever they need to find to make Freeza a Super Mutant God.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
That hasn't stopped him from writing multiple inconsistencies into these movies.CM101Play wrote:This, Toei made M12, this is AT's work like BoG was. This and BoG are considered continuations of the manga by AT.
At the end of the day anything is possible because at the end of the day Toriyama doesn't care about consistency and he isn't the only person who makes these films.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
So you would consider the 15th DBZ movie canon, but not the 12th? I mean, I get it. Akira Toriyama came up with this story, blah, blah, blah.... but isn't it a little weird to say this is OK but not something that happened 3 movies before? It's the movies. It's weird to say "OK, after this point everything is canon". Also, if Toei just keeps making DBZ movies well after Akira Toriyama isn't involved for whatever reason, would you just pick these two movies out as canon?Bullza wrote:Well, Freeza did meet "grown up" Gohan in movie 12. So it looks like Madman is bringing the latest Naruto Movie to NZ and AUS for theatrical screenings in January. Have no idea when it came out, but I hear it was recently- as in this month, or something.
Hopefully they'll be able to do this with F. Might detract from seeing the English dub in theatres later on, but if it means I don't have to wait half a year to see it for the first time, then that's fine by me.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
It's not just that - movie 12, like the vast majority of the movies, just doesn't fit in the continuity of the manga/anime. I don't give two craps about canon, but unlike, say, Episode of Bardock, we're talking about something that flat-out cannot have happened in the series. I think the reason most people disregard the movies isn't because they "aren't canon" or "weren't by Toriyama", it's that they don't gel with the series at all, and aren't meant to.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:So you would consider the 15th DBZ movie canon, but not the 12th? I don't think you can really compare the movies back then to what we're getting now. The pre-BoG movies were churned out during the series' run to fill time slots at Toei festivals and take advantage of the popularity of the still-ongoing TV series without worrying about them fitting into any sort of timeframe. Not saying that the new movies aren't made to make money, but it doesn't take an in-depth analysis to see that there's a lot more love being put into them now, what with Toriyama's involvement and bending over backwards to make sure they fit into the manga's storyline, to the point where they are indeed marketed as, for all intents and purposes, "canon".
So, yeah, I think it would be extremely weird and wrong for this to reference movie 12. Pretty certain it won't.

I would hate Toriyama if he will make these soldiers - Tagoma and Sorbet - stronger than the Ginyu squad, and also claim that they were stronger back then in Namek saga too, I would hate him if would he will do it without giving an explanation. A possible explanation would be: They were part of the Ginew squad, but they had other duties to fulfill. Or they were some procurators when Frieza was out of his Empire for some reason?

I wonder if Saikyo will surprise this week and have actual updates in addition to that pull-out poster for F.
Any of the following in general (not related to Saikyo):
-naming more staff members
-the official F site providing a summary on the introduction page
-some tie-in figure scans appearing
Would be nice.
Without an OP movie this winter there really isn't anything I can think of for Toei to play the trailer in front of (as Naruto is Pierrot, not Toei). Maybe they'll play the trailer during/after Kai next weekend.

Aren't the trailers usually previewed on a morning show (the name escapes me right now) before they're officially released online/in theatres?Chuquita wrote:Maybe they'll play the trailer during/after Kai next weekend.
If I recall correctly, we usually see a cut-up version of the trailer with a voice-over and a little box in the corner showing the reactions of the hosts, before the actual thing gets released.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Fusion Reborn is impossible to be consider to be canon to the anime and manga seeing that the movie does not fit into the timeline. Fusion Reborn has Gohan on Earth with Videl when he should be with Kaioshin training with the Z sword. Goten and Trunks should on Kami's Look out then being with Gohan. Fat Buu is nowhere be seen since he was with Mr. Satan at the time when Fusion Reborn came out in theaters. Besides Toriyama himself considers the older 13 DBZ movies to be in a different dimension than being apart of the actual story. By different dimension then he means that they are set in an alternate timeline.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:So you would consider the 15th DBZ movie canon, but not the 12th? I mean, I get it.
