If FnF made that much money, I think Toei could very well consider rebooting the damn franchise, considering people still care for it that much. I mean Dragon Ball Kai 2014 only happened because it was such a hit internationally.Bullza wrote:They just need to be smart with it because under the right circumstances the movie could make a decent amount worldwide. They should bring the movie out internationally a lot sooner than with Battle of Gods, no later than 2015 and preferably before the subbed version hits the internet.
There's other countries that the movie could be released in like UK, France and especially China. Then just give it a wider release, not massive but more than just a limited release in a small amount of theatres.
If they really went for it then $100 million worldwide would not be impossible.

I personally I'm expecting a lower success than BoG had. Many fans do not like the theory the Frieza will come back. As far as I am concerned, I'd say I can not judge how great will this movie be, because I do not see Frieza being a best choice for a new story, even if I must admit that he is the villain who generated the biggest DBZ saga(and the greatest).
I wish Toriyama did not come up with this new story so early....

If you really don't like the idea that much, you should wish for a success and support official releases. It would lead to more movies with different ideas.Low Tone G wrote:I personally I'm expecting a lower success than BoG had. Many fans do not like the theory the Freeza will come back.

If bringing back previous villains ends up being successful that will signal that bringing back villains is the way to go.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
If that's the case, continue supporting them until they run out of old villains. A failure means no more new stuff in the future, which is obviously the most unwanted result.Saiga wrote:If bringing back previous villains ends up being successful that will signal that bringing back villains is the way to go.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Most of the fans that I see on the web seem pretty happy with Freeza coming back. I don't think the movie is going to start a trend where they keep on bring back classic villains over and over again. I think DBZ Movie 16 could give us another original villain again.Low Tone G wrote:I personally I'm expecting a lower success than BoG had. Many fans do not like the theory the Freeza will come back.

Nah they'd never do that. If a villain had to be brought back like this it was only ever going to work if it was Frieza. They're not going to be bringing back Cell as the main villain in the next movie and so on.Saiga wrote:If bringing back previous villains ends up being successful that will signal that bringing back villains is the way to go.

Here some of my two cents. Freeza coming back makes sense though because he's such a vital character in the Dragon World. So many people were affected by him and the entire universe knew who he was.

While I wanted to see a new, genuine villain character (I was disappointed when I first saw it was Freeza), I'm willing to see where Toriyama goes with this.
After all, I was also initially disappointed with the poster reveal for BOG (how buggy Beerus' eyes are there, like Babidi eyes, compared to the movie and his appearance on「F」's poster), and after I saw the movie it became one of my favorite DB films.

I would watch "Resurrection of Babidi". Well, I actually probably wouldn't. But I'd still like that idea better than this one.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

That was non canon though, they also brought back Garlic Jr and Cooler too. I mean from a canon perspective which these new movies belong to, then they won't be bringing back any other villain in a big way again like this.
It only works for this movie because they haven't really brought back a former major villain to prominence before and Frieza is the most iconic and most popular villain who has had the most impact and hasn't been seen in the longest amount of time. They're not gonna do the same thing again, it'd never be that repetitive and unoriginal.

If Toriyama was not writing this movie then I would imagine Toei would have brought back someone no likes like Garlic Jr instead. I would take Freeza over Broli, Super 13, Lord Slug and Bojack any day of the week.

Especially after all the love Heroes gives Brolli, (who now has ssj3, 4, and unintentionally hilarious oozaru form) I'm glad it's Freeza who comes back instead of him.
I'd rather have a new villain, but I'll take Freeza over Brolli any day.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
why would brolly come back, to die for the third time?
Hi
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Broly died once, not twice. The guy in the 3rd movie was not the original, just another Broly. So if you mean "a Broly" then you are right.
No, he wasn't. Your clone is not you. Except you mean that part where Goku needed to visit the original one in hell.Dbzfan94 wrote: He maybe only died once but he's technically been defeated 3 times.

Wait how much money did BoG make internationally?
