Speaking of Broly, anyone annoyed that recent games and art have made his hair greener? It looks ugly. His hair bordered more towards the yellow side before, and was just yellow in Toriyama's original concept art...
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

If you really don't like the idea that much, you should wish for a success and support official releases. It would lead to more movies with different ideas.
As I said I do not want to judge the movie untill I will have the opportunity to watch it...But if ends up the way I predict, I would like it to take other directions other than bringing back super-villains. I don't want to see an updated version of Namek/Freeza saga, in which Vegeta ends up to kill Frieza with his new Super Saiyan God powers. I simply do not want them to kill Frieza because that would be too predictable, I would like this movie to be an introduction for a Twelveverse saga, or something like that(but I predict Whis or Beerus or Vegeta will manage to kill him, and it makes me feeling bored with lack of new ideas). I would have liked better if a new Godly villain showed up instead of Freeza.

I think it's toally unnecessary to bring back villains because it have worked way better if they would head on to other universes theme, because if they want to explore them all, a single movie won't be enough for that, and Toriyama is getting old. Methinks it might be a waste of time to bring back a villain in a new movie, instead of exploring at least one or two unknown universes.

I wish for a success for the movie, but I won't be surprised if it won't suprass BoG's.

That part about the twelve universes was such a tease; I was really hoping we'd get to visit some of them in future movies...I feel if we do get to, it probably won't be this time around.

That said, I'm still holding out for that F trailer (or website update).

Yeah. I'm not against old villains to bring them back, I'm willing them to have minor roles in a new movie, and concentrate on other universes instead of giving God powers to random former villains, it was stated that there no other beings higher than the God of Destruction and his attendant, so why must Toriyama force other beings to be threat for the hightest beings, he better thought about stories with the most of other universes involved. A Twelverse saga it's the needed new idea to bother with.

The 12 universes thing I think will be too much for movies to handle. So I will not be suprised if DBZ 2015 doesn't have anything to do with it.

I still like the idea of "Toriyama writes a Dragon Ball story, his friend Katsura draws it." though I know that couldn't happen atm because I think Katsura's actively working on a manga right now (at least I think; I'm vaguely aware he's active on something), but maybe in the future.

Why spin-off? But I do not think he will draw again, but maybe a description of the universes and a movie story base on 1 or two of them which are interesting I would see to happen...

a spinoff so we don't have to see the same characters again. gokus my favourite but it gets kinda boring when the show is all about him.

I better go with an illustrated description, that would be way easier for Toriyama to do it insead of drawing. A 10-15 page desription it wuld be fine got the whole Twelverse issue.

In the first movie, I think the idea was that the suppression device had tainted Broly's hair and ki. By the second movie his hair was just yellow and his weird bluey SS was changed to also be yellow... but then his ki was still green so I'm not quite sure.

Now they are running with the idea that his Legendary form is just inherently green. Maybe because it was quite confused before.

Would it have felt more justifiable if Freeza had not been resurrected, but the Freeza in this movie was a version of Freeza from a new universe who lived longer and became much much more powerful some how?

I suppose even then it would be a bit disappointing, because the excitement of new universes is that it justifies whole new characters who are super strong. After all, the story had got to a point where it would seem random for many strong enemies who can challenge Goku to appear. 12 new universes opens up the possibility of 12 new fighters (or more) who are possibly as strong as Goku.

I don't want the twelve universes to be parallel, that's for sure.
I don't think they are parallel either. I think they're just additional new places to visit.

I've got no problem with there being a bunch of even stronger strangers in these other universes. Never cared about power levels or strength comparisons, so that would not upset me at all.

I blame the unending console games with their same story for tiring me out on the manga's villains.

If that's the case, continue supporting them until they run out of old villains. A failure means no more new stuff in the future, which is obviously the most unwanted result.
I would prefer no new material over multiple movies bringing back old villains.

If they can't think of anything good, I'm not supporting them.

There's no way to know for sure that this movie doing well will mean the return of other old villains. Hell, there's evidence to go against that really - despite how popular Beerus has proven, they don't seem to have gone the obvious route of going with another God of Destruction...unless of course that is what Freeza is going to become in this.

Which just brings me to my other point - the movie's not even out yet. We still know next to nothing. I just don't understand this level of distaste against what it's doing when we know next to nothing about how it's all going to work. I may be pretty unsure about the trained velociraptors that appear to be coming in Jurassic World, but you don't see me flipping the table and declaring the entire movie - which, the rest of it looks pretty darn promising - just over one thing that sounds bad to me, but may turn out to actually be pretty well done.

Personaly I would be very interested in a story about how Goku will take Uub AND Neko Majin as his students. Just like in the past when Goku and Krilin were the pupils of Kame Sennin. It could lead to a really refreshing adventure !! Neko Majin is a classic comical character 'à la' Toriyama when Uub is a kind but strong child.

The story could also speak about the possiblel tight links between Beerus and the Neko Majin race !! Even Master karin could be involved in this story.

That's for another OAV or at least for a short manga ... a just another DB multiverse chapter... 8)

There's two more issues of Weekly Jump this month before their holiday hiatus, maybe we'll learn more in one of those two issues.

Can't see them delay this one any further.

I think it would be interesting to see some character development on freezas part. Perhaps at the end he will just give up and become a good guy like all the others. Probably not though lol. On an unrelated topic thats just been on my mind... I feel like that little sash he wears in that figurine is going to be some kind of joke when he is revived... like " Happy revival!"

Agreed. I can't imagine them waiting until January. December's a big month for Shueisha. I imagine they'd want the trailer out before the magazine goes on break and before Jump Festa happens.
