Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

I certainly hope that Shida is working on the new film, not the Dragon Ball Kai ending. I'm pretty sure that anyone would kill for Fukkastu no F to be included in their works, especially since the brand is Dragon Ball. With Toriyama mentioning the new film would have more actions, I can't help but think that Naotoshi Shida, the master of action cuts, would totally show off his work.

With his sore arm and all, I'm sure he would have a close key animator to help him out a little bit.

I haven't been keeping up with Buu Kai in months; haven't most of their ed's so far been barely animated? They're mostly still frames, right?

EDIT: Just saw the 3rd one (only one I hadn't seen yet) it is just still frames. My hopes are heightened (slightly) that he's working on F.

Yeah, they were all stills. I'm not really sure what sort of 'assistance' he could have offered outside of maybe storyboarding but even then that seems a bit strange. Whatever he is working on now is probably for Fukkatsu no F, though. Probably.

Also, in the Japanese animation industry it doesn't really matter what the title of the work somebody worked on is. What is going to get Shida work if he ever goes freelance is not that he worked on Dragon Ball but his own skill, of which he has plenty to show off. Producers, directors, and animation supervisors look for talent, rather than resume. God knows hundreds of poorly skilled people work on every single series in existence.

By order of likelihood, I'd say:
1. He's working on this new movie.
2. He's working on the new video game opening.
3. He's working on Kai's final scene showing the new manga ending (exclusive to Japan).
4. He's working on the final, memorable Kai ending, as the last ending we'll see for quite a bunch of years.

Note that those are just hypothesis, I have zero proof that any video game opening or any new final scene for Kai is on the way!
