Just looks like regular boots to me, with the back splash like Trunks' has. The lighter blue doesn't come out to the sides like the sock would. It just meets perfectly wit the dark portion, like previous character's boots have,
The skirt looks like it's been improperly foreshortened to try and simulate it being raised by whatever is causing it to blow around.

That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

This chart perfectly shows the things I don't like about all the new animation. Everything in the bottom row looks so meticulously clean, polished and waxed as if they are all dripped in oil. They just glow all the time making it feel less detailed.

I see nothing wrong with the animation with the animation or Frieza being in his first form (in fact I'm glad to see it back. And I love the shot of his ship flying over the city and I also love that his army is on Earth. A full scale invasion will bring everyone into the fight and make for some great sequences and on top of that he should have an army. Hes the ruler of the biggest empire in the universe and him launching an invasion of Earth really makes it seem like a grand battle between him and his enemies. He's not playing around and wants to destroy them.
I hope the full trailer/next DB15 site update explains the character-absences and aesthetic differences.
Action sequences w/o plot-info don't tell much. ^^;

Man, I really need to stop being so negative though. I'm actually insanely excited for this film despite some pretty clear flaws already.
Hopefully the 3D will be good, usually 3D in animated movies look great so maybe this movie will deliver.
3D in live-action? Most of the time, it sucks, unless if it's full of CGI (example: Avatar).
I do agree with you on 3D being a waste of time though, I would prefer they spend their limited time on polishing the movie and making it look great than having a decent looking movie in good 3D.

Freeza mistakes #18 for a Super Saiyan and badly injures her. Kuririn is enraged and decides to start training again for the fight against Freeza's army.
That, or (unfortunately) we have another Gohan-Super Saiyan situation. I mean, it's not impossible for Kuririn to shave his head, but it's easy to see them forgetting what Kuririn is meant to look like at this point in the series. Numerous video games have also made this error.
