I was taking a closer look at the shot and noticed that the grass is so tall that the space ship looks as if it were not very large.

I'm not sure why you guys would assume this would look any better than BoG? It's clearly being made with the same budget/pipeline and with much of the same staff.
Anyway, production quality aside, I'm still pretty excited for this one if only because I'm super interested in how Freeza ties into Beerus/Whis.

You don't need a big budget to make something great. You need good directing and management skills. As it stands the storyboarding for this film is even worse than that of the previous film thanks to poor management.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Hold the phone. You came to this conclusion from seeing 5 or 6 shots? And besides, the boarding looks EXACTLY the same. Same panning group shot of the Z-fighters, same surprised shot of Vegeta. Honestly, the shots of Freeza's tail and face after emerging from what seems to be a rejuvenation pod are fluid and cinematic.JulieYBM wrote:You don't need a big budget to make something great. Let's keep things in perspective; nothing will ever be worse than how cg was used in BoG. As long as we can avoid stuff like that, this films already looking better.

That's usually what 'as it stands' means.radrappy wrote:Hold the phone. You came to this conclusion from seeing 5 or 6 shots?JulieYBM wrote:You don't need a big budget to make something great. The layouts show a lack of interest in making shots look interesting. You don't need a high budget to frame shots in interesting ways or depict characters in relation to their environments with interest, either. The movie isn't going to have spectacular drawings but the least it can do is have interest placed into its layouts.

Wow, this is becoming a real disaster.

When a sequel is made it should improve on the previous in every way so it's normal for fans to expect that.radrappy wrote:I'm not sure why you guys would assume this would look any better than BoG.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I never implied otherwise. But I disagree that this movie looks any worse than BoG at this point. It looks EXACTLY THE SAME in terms of quality. I thought that's what we were discussing?JulieYBM wrote:The layouts show a lack of interest in making shots look interesting. And hey, it still might. Not having gaudy cg camera moves would be a huge step in the right direction, and so far so good on that end. But it's clear from the release date that this movie went into production IMMEDIATELY after BoG finished. That doesn't give me a lot of faith that they were ever set to learn from these things. They probably will have an easier time making it this time since the pipeline and staff is already in place. When a sequel is made it should improve on the previous in every way so it's normal for fans to expect that.

I'm just waiting and hoping on that pamphlet getting either a translation, or a bigger/readable scan.
All the stuff in the trailer teaser was action shots, practically. DB action shots without context/plot aren't any more than db video game opening sequences. I need some mysteries solved before I give further thoughts on the story.

Edit: Freeza's new form in the middle (or is that him during transformation?) doesn't look impressive.

I think the animation looks fine. Not as great as BOG, but I think it can look better when the movie is complete. The movie is not even out until April, so we have another four more months to go.

Seeing it's a Japanese film, the CG is going to be shit nevertheless. CG in Japan is never as good as CG in Hollywood films from what I've seen expect for the live action movie of Space Battleship Yamato which has CG pretty close to Hollywood level in my opinion. Were you guys expecting the movie look as good as Toy Story 3?

we really should wait for the movie before criticizing. the animation is passable to be honest.

There are plenty of anime with good enough CG.Hellspawn28 wrote:Seeing it's a Japanese film, the CG is going to be shit nevertheless. I don't particularly abide with how it was said, but I think the point above poster is trying to make is fairly obvious. The film has yet to be released as a finished product, and several seconds of cut-up teaser trailer from a secondhand source is all we have to judge the production quality of the film on. Whilst that evidence alone may provide some insight into the finished article, making a wholesale judgement about the entire thing being a 'disaster' at this point is, quite frankly, absurd.JulieYBM wrote:I do not understand your demand.Bullza wrote:Wow, this is becoming a real disaster.
