I don't see why they couldn't have beam clashes on XV1 but maybe we'll have on XV2.
They did explain why. It would be a mess in a team battle setting. I've seen them work in DBZ sims like ESF and Zeq2, but whatever. Maybe they can find a way to implement it in the next installment.
That is what I'm thinking. People have to understand you can't expect these guys to have everything they want when this game is already looking like it is giving us more than any past game. Clashes would be difficult to manage in team battles, but they could make it work. It just wasn't a priority in this one. In a hypothetical sequel, I'm sure they would love to add it.

A few ways it could work, imo:

- While in a beam struggle, other characters can TRY to approach the beams/the characters in the struggle, but it'll hurt them and knock them away if they get within a certain range. Also ranged attacks bounce off or are blocked by the energy of the struggle.

- Teammates can join up to help by adding another blast.

I'd say for a team battle it would simpler to have your teammate be able to induce low damage attacks to the opponent during your beam struggle, only if he can get past the rest of that player's team. Trying to do a 3 to 4 way beam struggle sounds like bitch to try to have work properly.

Looks like I won't be using any OCs outside of the story mode. Until I boost his stats up to the point where it doesn't matter what he's wearing. (if that's even possible)

All n all it seems as though like in Typical DBZ game fashion they screw up a few things just to leave us wanting a sequel. Well I'm still getting the game regardless, it's the most fun looking game I've seen in quite a bit.

Also I've grown to not care much about combat depth in a DBZ game, I have other great franchises to turn to if I want hardcore play. So while this game definitely seems to be focusing more on gameplay (for the better), I'll probably just aim to get familiar with the basics and we'll see how it goes from there. Cuz chances are once MKX drops, then Tekken 7 and SF-5 this game'll definitely be collecting dust.
they said the costimizations wont change your stats much so in the end you can wear what you want.

Not true, during network test I saw a clear difference in terms of life/defense between top-less and with saiyan armor.

It'd be better if base stats existed for items of clothing but you could collect either Zeni or resources (gained from winning in specific ways, perhaps?) and upgrade your armour in which they still keep basic properties (armour is defense over speed, basic clothing is the opposite) but when you upgrade them then you get more balance between items.

Doesn't mean that the final product won't have anymore stages. We will just need to wait and see, but I highly doubt we just be getting World Tournament Stage.

I've gotta say i hope I'm wrong about the 1 on 1 local co-op only being on the world tournament stage, however it seems likely to me based on the special camera the mode uses

That better not be the case. I should be able to 1 vs 1 where ever I want.

Unfortunately without split-screen and with the way some Stages are, unless we get a Final Destination version of every single stage, I wouldn't bet on it,

i think It will give just one stage because on the live Interview they don't choose any Stage. It migth be a Beta but why they should put just one stage at it. If this is true it will be the worst Dbz game ever. btw sorry for my unskilled english :D

Battle of Z had no local multiplayer at all. Having the mode itself back is a plus.

Well, I was always going to pre-order this eventually, as I do with every Dragonball Z game, no matter how un-enthusiastic I am about it as a prospect (take Battle of Z for example). This time, however, I've jumped ahead early with this one, as I have to admit - it's looking like literally the best thing to happen to Dragonball Z games since Budokai 3. The cannibalisation/amalgamation of Dragonball Online ideas and functionality just makes this seem better, and everything that continues to come out only attracts me further, as opposed to the opposite, which was the case with each subsequent reveal for Battle of Z. It's almost like this could be the game that Dragonball Online could have been, only with a console-friendly battle system as opposed to the clunky point and click system that game had. Moreover, the greater array of personalisation options for player avatars seems light years ahead of DBO, which was very restricted, both in terms of available races and what you could do with them.

Please, to God, turn out to be the game I hope this will be!

I haven't been following this a whole lot, but it looks really good. The gameplay seems to be a refreshing mix of the traditional Budokai games and BT.

This is my hope as well my friend, although I would have preferred an actual console MMO as opposed to a fighting game, but I'm not going to complain as this looks like the next best thing.

In regards to the 1v1 local battles, I would be very surprised if it turned out to just be one stage. However, seeing that this game really want players to explore the online capabilities, I can imagine them choosing the world tourney stage as the one stage for local battles. A lot of the focus has been put on the online hub, CaC, and battling online, so we'll just have to see.

I for one don't really have anyone to play with locally and do a lot of online gaming, but I can totally understand the frustration for players who do a lot of local play.
