It's likely that Goku and Vegeta take turns fighting Freeza, that either Goku (unlikely) or Vegeta gets whacked and that the remaining one fights Freeza's ultimate evolution all alone.
If this is anything to go by then Vegeta is the one who will fight Freeza's ultimate evolution :

Again, you're throwing out implications where none exist.

The movie's poster says they're equal.

They're both standing side by side.
Anyone with half a brain cell can figure out that they're going to be equal in this movie.

Just like they were in this movie, right?
It just means that the focus will be more on them. Nothing more than that.

No, I'm saying that Goku being in that shape doesn't mean Vegeta is going to do any better. And what says those pictures are in chronological order? For all we know, Vegeta is in even worse shape at that point.
Again, you're reading into this waaaay more than what's actually being shown. You don't have any context.

Goku is shown beaten up because he's the hero. This is a typical shot. We're supposed to be rooting for him. Vegeta isn't shown beaten up because he's a secondary character and isn't worth showing beaten up, just like Piccolo or Tenshinhan.

Fair point. But I'm still hoping for Vegeta to be on equal grounds with Goku for the first time in Toriyama's creations.

You must not have seen the movie's poster nor have read what Toriyama said about him a few months ago.

Based on the poster we're at the very least going to get that.
Based on what he said a few months ago it's very possible he'll end up defeating him.

What Toriyama said few months ago, it isn't a good evidence to sustain. But still, the poster
might imply Vegeta to be at least the same important character in this story, if not the main protagonist in the end.

Again, the poster doesn't imply anything of that sort. It just shows that Vegeta is going to be important in the movie.

As for Vegeta, in the event that there’s talk of another animated film, then next time, I’d like him to play the main role. (Of course, this is nothing more than intentions, and I haven’t decided anything at all.)
People always forget the second part.
The Monkey King wrote:RandomGuy96 wrote:dbgtFO wrote:
Please elaborate as I do not know what you mean by "pushing Vegeta's destruction"
He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Have you not read any of the posts replying to you? All Vegeta has to do is be important to the story. He doesn't have to be Goku's equal, or anything like that.

If i did then I would have said he was definitely going to be the one to defeat Frieza not possibly the one.
