I just love how towards the end everyone seems to be excited (even Piccolo) around Goten and Trunks and then.....SUDDENLY SUPER BOO . I laughed so hard the first time I saw this. Random Super Boo just comes right in from out of nowhere.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

Agreed, I bet that's a really cool stage.
On an unrelated note when does the next thing start with Xeno Trunks and evil Bardock? I'm really looking forward to that and I hope evil Bardock makes it into Xenoverse, which I find pretty likely

Card set releases have been 2 months apart for a pretty long time now. So if they don't break recent traditions, and they didn't with the updates from the Galaxy Missions to the Jaaku Ryu Missions, then whatever is coming after JM8 should hit us in March 2015.

It would be...if he didn't apparently keep his fusion clothes even after going monkey. First Broli, now Gogeta. What's wrong with just having the ape forms nekkid? They aren't really important, why try and make them unique?

He is a civilized ape.
"I am neither Goku nor Vegeta! I am the one who will defeat you!!" - Gogeta
Damn. And just when I wanted the last JM to offer one of the most obvious what ifs in Dragon Ball, they go the traditional route? That's sort of boring. Vegito deserved his SS4 limelight on this one.

To be fair, the Super Ozaru Gogeta is a regular card, not the SEC. Still decent enough chance for different what-ifs, as previous sets have had more than one included. Heck, we got like at least 8 in the set with all the Hakaio/Majin characters just in cards, and way more with ones that were never made playable.
Though they could easily go the lame route and make SS4 Gogeta and Super Yi Xing Long the SECs as well. :/

Didn't notice the clothes until you pointed it out. That's really strange, obviously they want these apes to be distinct... but why bother?
That said, if Goku and Vegeta did the fusion dance as Super Ozarus, wouldn't the resulting Gogeta gain the clothes?
Actually, going off the filler of the naked boys fusing into naked Gotenks, I guess not.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Personally I'm still holding on to hope for SSJ4 Gohan but Vegetto would be a cool choice as well.
Ah, the Alpha and the Omega. As all life was created from Chaos...so shall it be DESTROYED!!!
