@KentalSSJ6 I believe those DVDs eledoremassis02 showed are the original DVD singles released in Japan or something.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
My most recent purchase was ordering season 1 of the blue brick dragonball set, and season five of the Orange Dbz brick set. Currently on a mission to collect both dragonball and dragonball z complete on vhs and dvd, so I still have a long way to go.
The Dragonball series is my one and only anime show.
always on the lookout for uncut vhs box sets/individual tapes, dvd box sets, and various DB related merchandise.
My inner child is a monster that holds me hostage until I buy it endless video games and dragonball stuff. It won't stop until I have a man cave full of stuff that I look at more than I use. It's a problem.. They tried to make it go to rehab, but it said noo noo noo. Lmao.

Picked this up on Ebay for $NZ11

I don't know much about the early dubbing history of Dragon Ball, but even though I hear this is an edited version, it will still be nice to have it in the collection.

Wait a sec...I always remember hearing about this set, from before we finally got the Season Sets for the first series released here, but...I do not remember hearing about this 'interactive game'.LordCrumb wrote:Picked this up on Ebay for $NZ11

I got volumes 23-26 for my Kindle as part of Viz's holiday sale.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
My most recent purchase was more of a Christmas surprise then a purchase. My girlfriend had surprised me with a Figuarts Broly this morning and I love it. Since it's still Christmas I haven't had time to properly display him with my collection but I opened him out of the box briefly to take this picture.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
And thanks to the kind gift of a $50 Wal-mart gift card from my mother, the last three VizBigs for DBZ will soon be on their way to me, and at long last I'll own the entirety of the manga as well as the anime. Man that's gonna feel kinda weird. I mean, not as much so as it did with the anime, but there was seriously a time where I thought there would never be an easy way to own the entire franchise. Things have come a long way since those late 90's/early 2000's...yes, I see you guys who pre-date that timeframe shaking your heads at me.
This frees up space in the RS order I was going to make by quite a bit, tough the only DB related thing in that will probably be Jaco, which I totally forgot comes out super soon.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
That's the censored Ocean dub version from the mid 90s before Ocean dubbed DBZ. Apparently that was the only DVD release that existed for those episodes until around 2010 since the company behind the release were being dicks and kept renewing their DVD license for those episodes or something so FUNi couldn't dub the episodes.LordCrumb wrote:Picked this up on Ebay for $NZ11

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I think you're getting a little mixed-up here. The film, Curse of the Blood Rubies (which is also included in the above set) was the one that wasn't released with a redub until 2010. The first thirteen episodes of Dragon Ball were redubbed by FUNimation in 2001 for TV, but the only home release they received was by Madman in Australia/NZ. They became available on DVD in the US, uncut, when the first 'Blue Brick' Season Set came out in 2009.Kakacarrottop wrote:That's the censored Ocean dub version from the mid 90s before Ocean dubbed DBZ.
