so what hardware would you use to play such a behemoth disc?

A laser disc player. Duh! Here is a drawing of one...

I like how the laser disk player:
a) is cool enough to where sunglasses at night
b) is a fan of Corey Hart
c) is aware of the excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV) can cause short-term and long-term ocular problems such as photokeratitis, snow blindness, cataracts, pterygium, and various eye cancers.

Am I alone in the opinion that these forums could use some more dumb MS-paint drawings?
