I don't think Toriyama will replay the Namek saga in a reverse sense like : Namek saga - Vegeta is killed by Frieza--> is avenged by Goku. Fukkatsu no F movie - Goku is killed by Freeza --> is avenged by Vegeta.Black_Liger wrote:There's a rumor going on facebook that Goku will die in this movie and be avenged by vegeta.
I wouldn't mind, but that sounds like BS XD

They can always wish Goku back with the Namekian Dragon Balls. Goku should be able to use King Kai's abilities to ask them. He did save many lives in recent years, I'm sure they'd be cool with it.Herms wrote:Yeah, there's no legitimate source behind that, if it even needs saying.
Also, it'd be a bit weird for Goku to die in this movie, since he's, well, kinda not dead at the end of the main series.
But yeah, I doubt Goku will die.
Vegeta getting to go SSJ God and fighting Freeza, finally getting his proper closure with the terror of much of his life? That might be nice for some good character moments.

I doubt Goku will be killed off since he is still alive at the end of DBZ. ROF takes place six years after Buu, we still have another four years until the events of EOZ happens. If Goku dies then Goku would likely won't want to be wish back since he didn't want to be wish back after he died from Cell.

That was then, now he's got twelve universes of gods to fight, I doubt he feels the same way he did what was at this point around 10 years ago or so.Hellspawn28 wrote:I doubt Goku will be killed off since he is still alive at the end of DBZ. Very good point. Goku only wanted to stay dead because he believed that all the threats that came against Earth were because his existence. Now that he knows that other Gods of Destructions have no linkage with him that he can look forward to meet them, and his life can have sense now.Mewzard wrote:That was then, now he's got twelve universes of gods to fight, I doubt he feels the same way he did what was at this point around 10 years ago or so.Hellspawn28 wrote:I doubt Goku will be killed off since he is still alive at the end of DBZ. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Hmm this Goku dying theory might actually have some substance. It will explain why Goku doesn't go Super Saiyan and during the last episode of Z, when Goku goes off to train Uub, Piccolo says that is the first time in a long time he has seen Goku happy, Dende agree's. And so if he died then maybe that'll explain why he was so eager to train and fight Uub since he missed the big reunion fight with Freeza and in turn explains why Vegeta was so casual in letting Goku go. In addition, there is Vegeta's comment saying that he doesn't believe that Goku is training Uub to uphold peace, but something more than that.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"

Goku dying is definitely something I'm not expecting. I know he will hit the ground like in any other movie (this image already proved that).
But die?! Thats a twist.
I'm more afraid for Beerus. Such good character, so little screentime.
-About Vegeta-
If Freeza has to die in the movie, there's no one more worthy to do it than this guy.
I always loved the idea of the one that killed Mecha Freeza, was indeed Vegeta's son, Always felt like to me, Vegeta indirectly gave him the middle finger this way.
Now if he has to die again, Vegeta himself should kill him.
-About Freeza becoming a good guy-
Don't like that idea. Freeza is evil. He's my favourite villain of all time because all the bad things he did and his importance to the plot. Seeing him and goku become best buddies (exaggerating) makes me puke.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Actually, I feel Goku wanting to stay gone at the end of the Cell Saga was because he wanted Gohan to take over, to become his Legacy and be Earth's champion. To let him become his own man and protect the future of the world. Goku wanted to pass the torch, but...ya know...fans and all that. Made Toriyama bring Goku back. Kinda like when Superman 'died', gave the opportunity for a wider character arc for others like Kon-El (Superboy) and such to develop further and assume the mantle of Superman. But then DC brings'I'm right back and ruins the entire thing.Low Tone G wrote:Very good point. Now that he knows that other Gods of Destructions have no linkage with him that he can look forward to meet them, and his life can have sense now.
I feel it was a missed opportunity. Gohan could've really come into his own, Vegeta could've looked passed his grudges and worked towards something greater. And with the birth of Goten, there was indeed the possibility of a 2nd Goku right there. But it all ends up a wasted chance for real, deep character development when you make death meaningless with a magical dragon that can bring you back to life or some other plot element to do the same.
I won't gripe about it too much. It's still given us things like DBO and Xenoverse, and the latest films. But I did just wish things would expand a bit more into the great unknown, and not in the way GT tried and failed to do things.
Like, why did Freeza's men wait so long to do this? I mean from the time Trunks killed Freeza to Battle of Gods, it'd already been like 16yrs (judging by Gohan's age). So Birus being awake for "Fukkatsu no F" after saying to wake him up in 3yrs, would make this latest installment between 19-20yrs after Freeza's death. So the question stands; Why did they wait so long? I have this feeling that it wasn't their idea. I mean, King Cold is dead, Freeza is dead, Cooler is non-canon (and dead), and those they commanded have broken up. That DBZ special with Abo and Cado pretty much told us that they weren't following anyone's orders anymore and were off doing their own thing across the galaxy.
Yet, if these guys are still an army, who're they following? Not Freeza, he's dead. So then who'd keep them together, lead them, and then hatch a plan to bring Freeza back? And for what purpose? Whoever would be doing this must be aware that Freeza was killed by the Saiyans currently residing on Earth. So why revive Freeza when enough training can make their minions stronger to resemble levels Freeza has already achieved?
I get the feeling there's a bigger figure at work behind the scenes. Someone who orchestrated Freeza's revival and has been controlling his families armies for the past 20yrs. Someone whom I doubt is loyal to Freeza and is only using his revival for some other goal. Whether that's eliminating the Saiyans or exploring the depths of Freeza's species power. It may be another of their same race who wants to probe the depths of what they can become by using and manipulating Freeza, who was supposed to be the strongest among them, and see how far it can go by challenging those who're currently the strongest beings in the universe; The Super Saiyans.

I think my worst case scenario for this film is that the whole thing was a training exercise orchestrated by Whis for Goku and Vegeta. Although, that probably would fit with his sense of humour.

Yeah, I can imagine Whis just turning up at the end after Freeza's been defeated, going, "Oh Ho Ho Ho" and clapping, but I feel like that would cheapen the character of Freeza even more, as well as the events that take place within the film itself.Lord Beerus wrote:That would be hilarious!DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:I think my worst case scenario for this film is that the whole thing was a training exercise orchestrated by Whis for Goku and Vegeta. A few other random thoughts:
- I wonder if Freeza will be dissatisfied at the lack of gold hair in this movie. Being denied a rematch with an actual Super Saiyan may irritate him somewhat.
- I know it was pretty much a throwaway line, but I like to think that Whis offering Goku the position of God of Destruction at the end of BOG is a suggestion that Beerus is nearing the end of his life and that this film will be about Freeza looking to claim his position. I'm reading into things way too much, but he's even sneezing in the trailer.
- There hasn't been a whole lot of discussion about the new characters in this film so far. Are they simply throwaway villains? Or will they play more of a role than that? I'm very interested to see if there's anything more to them, because right now we don't know much. Do we even know who's playing them? I really like how Tagoma looks on the poster (as you can see in my avatar) and Sorbet looks pretty wacky as well, although I think he might be the brains behind the operation.
- I wonder if the multiple mentions of Freeza in BOG were coincidental, or if they'd already decided on the story for this film by the time those lines were penned in. Really curious to know when Toriyama came up with this because I did find the number of times that Freeza is bought up in BOG unusual. Beerus even describes him as, "a bad apple" or something to that effect at one point in the movie.
- There's been a lot of talk about the animation in the initial trailer, and I think my main issue with it is not so much the actual animation, but rather the colour palette and how it's just too boring and predictable. There doesn't seem to be enough variation.
- I believe it was mentioned that the fight takes place somewhere windy. Hmmm, Yunzabit Highlands?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
This is a bit of something I touched upon just earlier up as you can see. If you look at the Trailer, all the Freeza soldiers are wearing the same outfits they did 20yrs ago. Togoma and Sorbet's armor is distinctively different. Which further leads me to believe that there's someone else whose manipulating them into doing this. The new scouter and armor designs would indicate that someone else has been at work since Freeza's demise, someone as yet unrevealed. Whis could certainly put things in motion, but he seems one not to do so. And Birus had slept for 36yrs beforehand and went back to sleep immediately following his fight with Goku, so neither one would seem in a position to be playing around with the remnants of Freeza's empire.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:- There hasn't been a whole lot of discussion about the new characters in this film so far. We did hear that there are other Gods of Destruction out there. Maybe this is one of them out to test Goku's abilities for himself and uses Freeza as a proxy. Or maybe another member of Freeza's race brings him back to test the limits of their races transformative prowess. I get the feeling that a hint to the truth behind "Fukkatsu no F" won't reveal itself until the very end of the film, leaving us with yet another cliffhanger leading into a 3rd movie or perhaps kicking off a whole new series.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I still don't get why Vegeta "Deserves" to get "closure" on Freeza. It was one asshole being a dick to another asshole. Vegeta deserved what he got from Freeza. Vegeta was just as cold as Freeza was and if Freeza weren't around, guess who probably would have done the same slaughtering Freeza did, go on guess. Vegeta was even cold by Saiyan standards. He doesn't deserve shit.
Vegeta's comeuppance for being an asshole early on was being under foot of another asshole more powerful than him. That's Vegeta's karma. He was an asshole, and an asshole (Freeza) was an asshole to him which in turn makes karma a bitch. We see Vegeta and his buddy kill our heroes, and once we see Freeza we see that there's an asshole who made Vegeta's life suck. We feel good cause the asshole who killed our heroes isn't living the easy life. He deserves being treated like dirt in comparison to Freeza as that's how Vegeta views "weaklings". So really Vegeta doesn't deserve comeuppance as he deserved his misery. Freeza's comeuppance was being killed by a lowly Saiyan (and then actually killed by a lowly saiyan) who unlocked the power which he feared would come into fruition. And so his worst nightmare of Super Saiyan came to life and killed him (for reals with Trunks). So Freeza got his comeuppance.
I'd only support this if somehow Vegeta's family was involved and they were in direct jeopardy. Like Freeza took Trunks because he looks like the kid who murdered him, and harmed Bulma just to torture Vegeta. Other then that I see no reason why Vegeta deserves shit. Freeza only chained down another monster who also liked genocide. Vegeta would do just as bad things as Freeza would. They both don't have any real moral limits to how cold they are (were in Vegeta's case). Both would blow up the planet if they're losing and both would kill their allies if it would better themselves, even if they could still be useful in the future. If you backed down or lost a fight, both of these guys would kill you instantly even if they knew you didn't stand a chance against an opponent.
So no. Vegeta doesn't deserve shit. At best I'd give him being support to Goku. Either say the two of them working together to put an end to Freeza. Like perhaps Vegeta comes up and helps Goku push back that Death Ball. (If that's the conclusion then it feels really similar to what Beerus did in the last movie by throwing a death ball to destroy earth....oh no "BEERUS DID IT" strikes again!

The first one is the only one that looks even remotely plausible. The other ones barely even resemble Freeza. Even the the first one seems unlikely though.Chuquita wrote:Fan-created designs of Freeza's new final form.
Still, kinda like the art style. It reminds me of Toriyama's current stuff.
