Where else would he go? Besides, I like to believe his next goal was to surpass Gohan as well.

Sure it would be. After the Cell Game, he was mad that "he was utterly beaten by that father and son". He even makes comments to Gohan later in the series how Gohan is out of shape and Bulma makes a comment about Vegeta trying to have Trunks surpass Gohan as well. Think about it: Vegeta's goal was to defeat Freeza and Goku did it. So his goal was strickly to defeat if not kill Goku but when Goku dies and Gohan becomes the strongest, the only logical plan is to surpass Goku's successor.Synthe wrote:Surpassing Gohan.

Well you would think so but why was he so quick to enter the tournament? If you remember Vegeta says: " Then let's make it more interesting, if you're going compete, I'll go too.".Vegeta goes on to say: "Once you were far more powerful then me, but how about now? I've kept my training while you've frolicked in peace." This shows that Vegeta still wants to fight and even later when Dabura is going to fight. Vegeta makes side comments about Gohan being weaker but you never know the amount of his strength when he gets mad. (Go think I didn't put my manga away just yet, eh?)Actually, didn't Bulma say that Vegeta HIMSELF had given up/stopped caring, and just wanted his SON to be stronger than Gohan?
