Did Faulconer ever make his own intro song for GT?

I read a rumor many years ago (around 2003) that Faulconer did his own song for GT, back when he was trying to get his fans to basically petition Funimation to bring him back to do the music for GT.

I've never heard anything since, and I assume this rumor's probably not true, but I'm just curious if Faulconer ever did do his own version of a theme song for GT to show off to fans.

Wouldn't surprise me since he was kind of an amateur back then and didn't have any job opportunities post FUNi dub DBZ.

I looked at his resume long ago and I know that Team Faulconer did do work on a number of shows, one of them being Cheaters. DBZ is just what he's best known for, he's never done anything as high-profile as that since but it doesn't mean he's not still active.

So judging by the list it's not like he turned into a homeless hobo after not getting GT around 2003.

Interestingly enough, he seems to have been involved in the music for DB: Evolution as well as Lady Death. I rather liked the Lady Death movie.

It's a damn shame he didn't get to do the music for it.. the stuff they did produce for it is terrible.. absolutely terrible. GT is the only one of the series that I watch in Japanese because of it.

Agreed, that score was easily the worst replacement DB score (although Nate Johnson's was pretty terrible too since he was blatantly ripping off Shuki Levy). This is the only music i like from that score

I really wish that Bruce Faulconer didn't throw a fit about not getting GT, because I'm sure that Funimation would have brought him back to do the first 64 episodes when doing the ultimate uncut editions. They were obviously trying to get something consistent since they redubbed a lot of season 3 also, so I'm sure they would've wanted the music to be consistent.

Everything is so dark and ominous with that music and narration. It's a huge clash in tones with the actual show, especially the early episodes.

I know I complained about Faulconer a lot in the past but, Menza was lightyears worse. Mark Menza made me realize that Faulconer actually does have some good musical sense. I respect Menza for his work on DBZ Movie 6 but beyond that, nada. I think Movie 6's dub was probably a "test" to see if a new guy could come in and replace Faulconer's music. Because it was so well-received (even I gave it some praise) that's probably why he got GT, although I don't think anyone expected his work on GT to be so thoroughly mediocre.

It would have been nearly -impossible- for the score to be worse. GT's dub score was dark, depressing and largely lifeless. What's most aggravating is that GT's original music was the single best selling point of the series (and the one thing that kept me from abandoing the series in disgust) so replacing the score- and replacing it with something so horrible- is like pouring salt in the wound. The only good thing about Menza is that he made me realize that Team Faulconer's music wasn't horrible as I thought it had been.


I can actually listen to Team Faulconer tracks and say, "hey, that's actually a pretty good song by itself, even if though I prefer the Japanese soundtrack this song isn't really that bad," but in GT there's virtually nothing Menza composed that I can say that about.

Like this- this song is dark but it's used sparingly during certain "scary" scenes from the Android saga. GT's score was like a cheap, lazy version of this song remixed 50 times and played nonstop.

I would have loved it if Faulconer came back to score GT. Frankly, I'd take anything over the hot garbage we got from Menza. The english soundtrack is one of the things I despise about GT. It's ear grating.

But before 1999 we could certainly make the assumption he was a hobo. (i read on the site "dragon ball uncut" the only thing he composed prior to DBZ was the music for some commercials in Texas or something).
