I swear many of these pics about Bieber are about SPITE then actual factual comparison that could make it funny. As per the Daizenshu, the only things that weren't were the emergency deactivation parts and the bomb. neither of which contributed to her power.

According to the manga, most of the alterations actually were organic in nature, not all, which is why they can be absorbed by Cell, but it doesn't specify details about it.

I don't adhere to what Daizenshuu says regarding that because, if the only inorganic parts were just the bomb and the shut off mechanism, then why couldn't they be sensed by the gang and how do they have infinite energy just like #16? I believe its even mentioned that #16 is a infinite energy model like #17 and #18 are, only he is not human based at all. This suggests that whatever powers them is essentially different from organic/Ki power, which is why they can't be sensed and why they have infinite energy.

Furthermore, we have Cell, who is literally a being created by manipulating the organic make-up of different beings, that draws his power/Ki from his organic body, and who the gang can sense without a problem and doesn't have infinite energy like #17 and #18 do. I believe this supports my opinion about it.

So, following the manga, I disagree with the Daizenshuu in that regard.

Even if you are just following the manga or stuff Toriyama himself has come up with, I see nothing that contradicts the same idea. Dragon Ball has a ton a weird crap in it. We already have normal ki and godly ki (which can't be sensed, except by other gods), I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gero found a way to create the "artificial" ki through both organic and inorganic means.

Heck, Toriyama even stated very recently that being human based models means that 17 and 18 can train and get stronger, which isn't something that tends to be possible with mechanical parts (I don't think anyone would expect 16's engine to be capable of this). If he were just talking about adding their normal human ki onto the artificial ki that the generator was producing, then their original organic ki probably shouldn't have been suppressed in the first place because that would mean they were working independent of each other. Meaning they should have been able to be sensed from the beginning, but they aren't.

I'm not saying that another interpretation is impossible, I'm just stating my opinion about it and why I think so.

Going into further detail, I think Gero simply found a way to create a infinite energy generator and that he also found a way to change a live person in a way that made it possible to place that generator inside a person and make it tap into the person's critical systems, like the nervous system, essentially making the generator deliver energy to every single cell of the person's body, strengthening them all.

In essence, this overlapped with the person's natural system. So, all the natural systems of the person are still in there, and so is the person's natural Ki, only its overlapped by this infusion of energy from the generator, making it irrecognizable and undetectable. Such a person would still be able to become stronger, pretty much like any normal person can because the person's systems are essentially the same, but the part that would benefit from training would be the organic part, the infusion of energy from the generator would remain the same.

And of course most of the modifications to that live person end up being organic because most of the changes done to that person would be regarding the connections between the generator and the body of the person and the distribution of energy to all of the person's body, which would require them to be fully organic compatible.

With #16, it was simply a matter of building a robot around the generator.
