Why Didn't Frieza Attack Namek Earlier?

Post by TheUltimateVegito » Tue Jan 13, 2015 5:25 pm

I can see why they'd know about Namek considering how advance Frieza's empire is but why didn't they attack it earlier? Was it because the climate catastrophe made it unfit to sell? Even though it's inhabitable?

It's likely that they had no idea about the Planet until Vegeta brought it up. If they did knew about it then they most likely thought the Planet was worthless.

But then how would Frieza find the location so quickly? And yeah, that might be it. Although it is rather strange how the myths surrounding the planet wouldn't at least catch their interest beforehand.

It wasn't the myths that caught Vegeta's interest but the confirmation about the DBs from Piccolo.

Except for the Dragonballs, there is nothing profitable about Namek. A planet with three suns? That alone would keep other species away from it.

As was the case with Vegeta, Freeza probably just didn't hold much stock in any of the legends regarding the Dragon Balls until he overheard the events on Earth and put two and two together. Then it was no longer a myth, but a fact, and well worth diverting attention to Namek to go and investigate.

But still, with all the resources Freeza had, you'd think it wouldn't be too difficult to send a squadron down over and see how legit those myths were.

I know, I mean Vegeta mentioned how the Namekians are rumoured to have above average power levels and are like magicians before deciding to kill Piccolo. Wouldn't this at least spark interest to go visit the planet beforehand?

I bet that every planet has legends about goldfishes/wise men/elven jewellery that grants wishes. Do you personally hunt down every legend you hear of?

Fear not- had they heard about genies and lamps they would have also heard about that every bigger mountain is full of mighty warriors of the past, waiting to come back in the time of need....

I believe Frieza didn't have any plans of attacking planet Namek until mention of Dragon Balls from Piccolo. Frieza would need a reason to persuade him to visit Namek.
