It's actually kind of weird that first form Freeza looks so off there, cuz final form Freeza looks great from what we can see there.

...How in the heck did I miss that one?! At least, I don't remember that one anyway...the only BOG Kuririn I remember seeing is one of those toys where it was a bunch of different characters sitting atop a Dragon Ball (want to say that was part of the KFC deal?). Do I even want to know how hard that is to find now, much less how expensive it'd be?

I haven't exactly been following the line outside of which characters are included (it'd be way too expensive to start collecting the whole thing now). A quick look around doesn't turn up very many results for it though, but a lot of the figures in the BOG lines are ranging $20-$40 on various sites. Of course, this long after release, there's always the bootleg issue too...

I couldn't care less if it's "girly." To say otherwise would be an insult to the wonderful female vocalists who contributed their talent to the golden age of the series (Ushio Hashimoto, KUKO, Yuka Sato, etc.). I'll even defend the use of artists like ZARD and Shizuka Kudo. If Momoiro Clover Z can give us a song that feels like Dragon Ball, then let the estrogen reign free. The odds are against them, but hey, prove us wrong.

I think the only particularly good parts of F are the 'Freeza' chanting. The indecipherable screaming is nauseating, but I do think the Freeza chanting is quacky enough that it would work if set to the right scene, like Freeza's forces attacking and overwhelming the world.

So I didn't actually stop to think about this before, but...why are we so certain that the "proper" translation of the movie's title is "Revival of F"?

Apologies if this has been brought up before (340 page thread and all), but...generally when talking about revival in Japanese the phrasing would be "_____ no fukkatsu" (or _____ fukkatsu) not "fukkatsu no ______".

Direct examples of chapter titles from the series (courtesy of wikipedia's chapter list, which uses Viz's chapter numbers) include:

復活の is used all the time; it's even in movie 12's title: 復活のフュージョン,
which your citation of choice, Wikipedia, translates as Rebirth of Fusion.

At the risk of oversimplifying things, there is no one way to do it.

復活の日 would be translated as Day of Resurrection, while 復活のスティーブ would be Resurrection of Steve.
Steve's Resurrection would be スティーブの復活, with Steve Resurrected as スティーブ復活.
While you could translate these different ways, this is generally how it works.

The particle の makes the resurrection belong to Steve.

We know from Toriyama himself (and the song that the movie's title comes from) that the "F" stands for Freeza.
Why would 復活の「Ｆ」be any different from 復活のフュージョン ?
