There are certainly times where the critique of the dub does go into critique or 'hate' for the fans of it, but it's not nearly the problem that it was a handful of years back (I think Kai has helped a lot in that regard, actually). Nowadays, at least here on the forum, fans of both versions seem to be able to co-exist peacefully enough. Hell, the fiercest arguments that happen now seem to be in regards to canon, or power debates, or story ideas, rather than what audio you choose to watch the show with.

No wonder I rarely see any conflict. I avoid these topics like the plague; they've never interested me.

Gosh, can't we all just get along?!
Can you link to a recent example of this, on Kanzenshuu, and not Reddit or another DBZ site that is almost certainly dub-focused? This sounds very much like self-imposed victimization.

Also, you ever notice that it's fans of FUNimation's dub making these threads? Clearly, they believe there are conversations to be had about things like this, and you can't get upset when you don't hear what you want to hear. To me, it feels as if a fan of the original version says "I don't like this," ten dub-centered threads about the subject will pop up tomorrow; basically scavenging for like-minded responses.

I've seen many instances of someone referring to Satan as (the H-word) or some minor name difference like Freeza vs Freeza (who gives a fuck) and they chastise the person. And God forbid you say you like the dub, or worse, prefer it. Who cares? We're all fans of the series. Who gives a shit it someone wants to enjoy it in the original Japanese or in their native tongue?
We had a thread a while back tallying up forum-goers' language preferences. 28 people identified themselves as preferring one English dub or another (versus 61 for the Japanese), yet there was surprisingly little bloodshed. Maybe I just live in an idealistic fantasy world, but I see people complain about how gosh darn mean we are to dub fans here far more than I see anyone here actually being mean to actual dub fans.
When I first started here I noticed a lot of dub hate, but most if not all if those people have either been banned for various reasons, or just stopped the hate, so I gotta say it's gotten significantly better in terms of that.

Is it actual hate, though? Are these personal attacks, or critiques of the dub?
I ask because I see a lot of dub fans take it personally whenever the dub itself is criticized.

Just 30 minutes ago, someone on reddit got snarky with me for pointing out that a common complaint
about Nadolny's Gohan is that he sounds like a raspy woman.
Personally, I grew up watching the English and Japanese simultaneously. I like both equally. I feel like there's a divide between the manga/anime community as a whole whether people like the Japanese or English better. Sorry, I don't have time to look through for examples. I'm typing this quickly while my wife feeds the baby before we head to my parents' for a visit.
I just get irked when fans of the same series have remarks to each other or try to discredit fandom based on that.

To answer you I can say I've seen personal attacks in person "You're a fucking retard dubs are shit you're not a real fan." and stuff like that online. That shit is uncalled for.
If someone has a problem with Falconer music or whatever or voice acting. Ok, legitimate gripe. Just let fans be fans of whatever medium of the series they like is all. Preach DBZ Unity. All hail Son Goku, our Savior. Amen.

When I made a post about Her-cule and I noticed it autocorrected to Mr. Satan for the first time I laughed my ass off.

Gohan deserves it.
