That's well put, I will collect all viz bigs of the original portion of DragonBall. As for the z portion I have yet to decide as I own it all digitally through vizmanga however for the sake of my collection i would enjoy having it in print.rereboy wrote:The Vizbigs are the only release with any color, I believe. And they are the release with the best paper quality and the bigger panels/art.Careless Saiyajin wrote:I'm looking for an English manga print release containing as much color as possible of original Dragonball not the full color z. I'll probably end up collecting VizBIgs.
The regular edition has no color, the paper is worse and the price is worse than the Vizbigs. However, they are more portable and their spines are probably more durable than the Vizbigs due to being smaller. Also, the recent editions have a little less censorship than the Vizbigs but its negligible because its only a few panels and the Vizbigs already have a very small amount of censorship.
The 3-in-1 have poor quality of paper and no color. But the price is the best of the three. They still have censorship so don't buy that uncensored propaganda. Its practically the same censorship as the regular edition because there are so few changes.
So, imo, the vizbigs are the best release.

I really like the Full Colour volumes but VIZ seem to have stopped producing them.

I bet you once some time passes to allow more people to purchase them that they are already scheduled to continue by the end of next year or sooner.SSJ3_Zack wrote:I really like the Full Colour volumes but VIZ seem to have stopped producing them..
Personally I like kanzenban style best. The original coloring is really neat to me.
Re: Your preferred English Dragon Ball Manga release and why
Owning the manga in about 7 different formats, I'd say you can't go wrong with the 3-in-1s. The price is the best bang for your buck. Next I'd say are the 1-16 of DB and 1-26 of DBZ graphic novel releases. Only for the better paper quality and that you wouldn't have to wait to get the whole series.

Re: Your preferred English Dragon Ball Manga release and why
I own the individual volumes digitally and the Vizbigs physically.
I'm way too anal about paper quality to settle for the (still censored) 3-in-1s.
If Viz ever puts out the Full Color manga, I'll probably pick that up and be done with it.
I'm more offended by Viz's quirky translation than I am by their censorship.
If I want the manga uncensored, I'll read the Kanzenban or the digital FCM.

Full Colors (American Version) because of their big size, beautiful colors that never look bad on any page, very little censorship, and using non translated sound effects. The closest release we had to the original!
The only reason why the Japanese version might be better is because of the Toriyama Interviews which I don't know why it was added on to the English version.
Now if they don't complete the Full Colors then it would be Full Colors Vol 1-3 and then the rest Viz Bigs because of the big size and color pages.

That's the thing though, English speaking people who can not read and write in Japanese can not read the kanzenban.FatNagger69 wrote:I own the individual volumes digitally and the Vizbigs physically.

I really liked the color and paint look of the kanzenban rather then the digital crayola look of these full colors.DarkPrince_92 wrote:Full Color and unedited. All I ever wanted...

Same here. That's why I bought the Japanese digital full color versions and making my own English version for my own personal collection. Not to send out to scanlators or anything. I'd recommend you do the same.DarkPrince_92 wrote:Full Color and unedited. All I ever wanted...

Vizbigs or bust for me.
Pros :
-Cheap, not dirt cheap mind you but the DB volumes in particular are 13$ max on walmart.com
-Some color pages, not all though
-Highest paper quality available
-Technically conserves space, one volume is not as wide as the 3 tankobons.
Cons :
-Bulky to read for some, especially DB volume 5 which has 4 volumes in one.
-This hasn't happened to me, but the spine glue can tear off generally just cause problems.
-Censorship, censorship, censorship...

This is very interesting, it's a shame viz can't just do this in English themselves because id be more then happy to support this release in English.

I'm fairly certain they will however are these Japanese volumes exactly the same as that English releas they are working on or what are the differences color wise and visually?FatNagger69 wrote:We'll find out if they continue the Full Color volumes later this year.Careless Saiyajin wrote:This is very interesting, it's a shame viz can't just do this in English themselves because is be more then happy to support this release in English.

We don't know the extent that they plan to edit since they're only three volumes in.Careless Saiyajin wrote:are these Japanese volumes exactly the same as that English releas they are working on or what are the differences color wise and visually?
The only visual changes they've made so far are to Popo's lips.
