Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
Q&A on Otakon Vegas with guest Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo) about "Revival of F" : "...the recording doesn't even begin until two days after I return from Otakon.." which is Wednesday January 21st 2015!!!
So the voice actor of Piccolo stated that voice acting begins tomorrow, as of today Japan is the 21st, so they would be recording the voices today.
“Too much FANTASY loses REALITY, too much HOPE may seem somehow EMPTY.”
― Akira Toriyama
It probably ain't much, but something Revival of F related happens when you do some things in Heroes according to this tweeted image from @dbhJoho. Google translate didn't help very much with his tweet.

It reminded me of the whole Superman thing as well.
That "takes the glasses off, serious business time" looks so cool. O_O
(Though realistically it only works if you have a light prescription, otherwise you just made it more difficult on yourself. >_> ;; )
I think we have more info on Gohan's goings on than anyone else in this movie so far. XD
*Laughs, but then feels sad because she still doesn't know anything about what Gokû and Vegeta are doing.*

1- Before the movie was announced Toriyama said he'd like to have Vegeta be the hero in it but he hadn't decided on anything yet.
A lot of fans took it as him just throwing around ideas and that he probably wouldn't do it and for good reasons one being that it would be hard to pull off.
2- Freeza is the main villain.
Then this was announced and what Toriyama said about Vegeta made sense cause if he was going to do it then there's no better villain to go with then Freeza cause he was already defeated by Goku which gives Toriyama a good reason to change things up and with Freeza being Vegeta's arch enemy it makes sense to put him in the spot light without it feeling rushed like what some thought it might be when Toriyama announced it but now it serves the story and won't look out of place.
These are good points.
Still, if we take "goku uses SS" for granted, then when does he do it? We know that he tries to fight Freeza in base form (should be the first fight given he's acting like Freeza is still weak), and we know that he gets beaten up badly at one point. Does Goku get beaten as a SS in that first fight, or does he stick to base and there are two Goku Vs Freeza fights, where he loses BOTH times?
If Vegeta wins, then either Goku breaks his promise in the first fight, or fights again to go SS, but loses for a second time.

I don't think he uses Ssj in the movie cause before he fights he tells Frieza that he doesn't need it anymore not that he doesn't need it to beat him so I think he'll only get one fight which he'll lose and Vegeta will step in and beat him somehow.
Other then that didn't they already say he wouldn't use it in the movie ? Or was it just speculation based on what he said to Frieza ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Is now 100% sure that Goku WILL go SSJ the movie?
English is not my first language!
I'm still waiting for Dragon Ball in Super...
This image made me remember/realize how badass Gohan actually is.

Honestly, this would only make me slightly satisfied. To make me happy, he'd also have to grab Freeza by the tail, drag him to the nearest toilet, and give him swirlies until he submits and calls him "daddy."

Unless I'm unaware of some new information, no, it isn't certain at all.
If the reading we got from Jump Festa was accurate, I'd even say it's unlikely.
Spoiler:
Nozawa and Nakao performed a part in character at Jump Festa. According Japanese Twitter, people on 2chan and Herms' translation, the reading was more or less:
Freeza: "In order to get my revenge on you people, I performed what they call 'training' for the first time. This time I'll go at full power right from the start."
Goku: "You would have made a good rival if you hadn't been such a bad guy."
Freeza: "Is it really alright for you to not become Super Saiyan?"
Goku: "Now, I no longer need to."

Goku has either become insanely cocky and confident or he's mastered the SSJ God form similarly to how he mastered SSJ to the point where there is no physical change. Either way, there is much more this to this, I'm certain of that.

Tried translating Vegeta's bubble in that scan from this morning; failed. Not enough legible kanji.
I do agree that his bubble is the most likely to translate at the current size it's at though.

So are they going to have Freeza reach SSG level by just training?
So did Whis train him in secret?
Did he figure out God Ki on his own?
Or is it that since his natural power was so high without training that with it he could become that powerful?

Want to get excited...but can't get hopes up...Gohan doing anything cool at this point is unlikely. Dat shot though...maybe there's a 0.0000000000000001% chance he becomes important somehow.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
