I think he meant that more as a joke. It sadly is what needs to be done at times. I've heard people criticize a game for not having DLC. I'm dead serious and it made me weep that the industry has gone down this road. I've seen it from many angles. Been in it for a couple years (Did testing for Nintendo as a contractor...not as glamorous a job as you think it is.) DLC is becoming the easiest way to make some extra cash off your game. It will also allow you to make GOTY editions so you can make money of basically reselling it all. It's just...bad and I hate it.

I'm not the one paying for my copy of Xenoverse in the first place, so I can afford to throw down the cash on the season pass. Pretty much regardless of what it contains, I'll be happy with Pack 1 and Jaco in pack 3...maybe not $25 happy, but I'm sure there will be enough other stuff in packs 2 and 3 to fill it up as a bonus. Especially since pack 2 is offering more characters.

I do wish they wouldn't give us content they cut out as DLC though. It makes me sad. xD

EDIT: Though I can see Revival of F content kinda being a possibility now.

I could Imagine Neko Majin Z and Tarble sneaking in as DLC. But original Dragon Ball characters are a no-go because they can't fly. The only original Dragon Ball characters that can legitimately fly are Tien and Tambourine.

Unfortunate how true this is. And people thinking that the quality of the game's going to be better because it has DLC (even if it might have just been ripped from the original game).

Bringing PC-Style expansion packs to consoles, things like Elder Scrolls 4's Shivering Isles or Mass Effect's DLC, that is void DLC is supposed to fill, either hat or minute, take-it-or-leave-it material like Mega Man 9 and 10's DLC. The problem is that Japanese game design rarely supports true "expansion pack" style additions, sans annual fighting games which are better served as being new retail releases, which is why nearly all the DLC they put out is clearly cut content that would have been in the final game had it been released before 2006.

Game testing being a thankless job coupled with Nintendo of America supposedly being an awful place to work in recent years, ouch, my sympathies.

I don't think we'll see any FnF content until the movie has a world-wide release. Otherwise the content would be restricted to Japan until translated into other languages, because it'd contain movie spoilers.

Nothing so far has lead me to believe any of the DLC is anything but bonus content (as opposed to the remaining 10% for a 90% game, for example). Not only due to the wealth of content available out of the gate, but this is a primarily DBZ-focused game; therefore anything GT is considered bonus. Jaco is from a different series. I can understand the hate for a game like Destiny, with it's bare bones content without DLC, but c'mon. Someone could enjoy a full experience with Xenoverse sans this DLC, so I for one will be happily grabbing it asap.

Plus, doesn't "Season Pass" indicate future DLC will be free if you buy it?

To answer the easier question of the season pass. Maybe. I'm hoping. But I'm using maybe for now.

Destiny isn't 'bare bones' without DLC. It's broken and terrible. It's heavily clear the story has been gutted, chopped up, minced and spread out among the DLC packs. There is stuff in that game that makes NO SENSE! To me Destiny is the primest example of where the games industry is heading if people keep supporting that kind of practices. The industry will see acts like Destiny, taking a story and chopping it up to sell to us piece meal later. As OK as long as we keep buying it, I tell a lot of friends when it comes to the industry, speak with your wallets. If you don't like this practice, DON'T SUPPORT IT! Don't buy destiny or anything like it. That is telling the industry that you're ok with that practice.
