Wow, it's not crappy looking likethe PS2 boxart, so yay! I stil find it strange that it's so centered around Trunks, but randomly has Goku throughout the series reflected in his sword. I'm guessing the boxart designers are still relying on there being a disgusting amount of Trunks fans still out there.fps_anth wrote:IGN just posted a large image of the Wii box art:

Very well put. Is there a reason why the newer games have the loading screens from older games?DaemonCorps wrote:Wow, it's not crappy looking likethe PS2 boxart, so yay! You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

WTF are you talking about? It looks exactly the same, except with the Wii label at the top instead of the PlayStation 2 one.DaemonCorps wrote:Wow, it's not crappy looking likethe PS2 boxart, so yay! Not really. The Wii cover looks a lot more detailed. Of course, this is from someone who also notices the different animation styles throughout the anime...

I posted this way back on page 44. So yeah. The Wii and PS2 box are EXACTLY the same. The undetailed one is just a mock-up prototype.Slickmasterfunk wrote:Found this on Amazon:
Looks a little better with more color and detail but still not great. At least we know what the spine looks like too. Why did they feel the need to put Super #13 on it though?
EDIT: Actually side by side it's been redrawn completely. It looks a ton better, a cover Meri could be proud of!
Yay! 300th post!

Well, if you wanna get technical, the Wii cover shows more of Trunks' hair.
Probably because of the black "PlayStation 2" bar at the top, while the Wii logo is off to the right. Good choice by Nintendo, I say, showing more of the image through the smaller logo.

Maybe not Atari but the people who actually disigned the artwork. Anywho ... thats a marvelous observation M.R.C. I like this cover better than the one the Japanese got. It kinda feels reversed like the Japanese cover is big and loud like Americans and the American one is calm and reserved like the Japanese.Taku128 wrote:Somehow I think Atari didn't think it through that far, but I'm open to discusion to get around things like that, like when fans discuss things to explain plotholes.TheMajinRedComet wrote:Goshh guys dont you understand. I think it feels like it pretty much always does: the Japanese cover is a fitting illustration, and the American cover is an ugly and kinda "what the hell?" collage.Anonymous Friend wrote:It kinda feels reversed like the Japanese cover is big and loud like Americans and the American one is calm and reserved like the Japanese.

Yeah, the American covers do look rather 'cut & past'.Olivier Hague wrote:I think it feels like it pretty much always does: the Japanese cover is a fitting illustration, and the American cover is an ugly and kinda "what the hell?" collage.Anonymous Friend wrote:It kinda feels reversed like the Japanese cover is big and loud like Americans and the American one is calm and reserved like the Japanese.
The game still starts with Dragon Ball Z. The main focus of the game is the Z series. Doesn't change the fact that it's bland and lacks any effort. Anyone with Photoshop could easily make a replica of the US coverart, which is mainly just four pieces of artwork put together. Granted, it's not the same as the even worse in-development box art, but it still sucks.TheMajinRedComet wrote:Goshh guys dont you understand. Probably the last US boxart I didn't mind was Super Dragon Ball Z which wasn't as bad as say Budokai 3, Shin Budokai or the "Budokai Tenkaichi" titles.
