By the way, what does it mean that only local is able to play in World Tournament? Is that for me against CPU or me against player 2? And what is HUD?
Dimps did the very most important things right hence why I pre ordered the game and DLC asap but they messed up on roster like always.
Local play vs 2P can only happen in WT(as far as we know). There's a small chance of that being untrue but there's no contradictory evidence. Cross your fingers.
HUD = Heads up display. Your HP, yellow meter, green meter and character portrait. For some genius reason that I can't understand, Dimps felt that not being able to see the yellow and green meter of the CPU or your online opponents was a great design choice.

When you say what about the other characters that cant transform. Yeah what about the other characters? It's not fair for them not to be able to have boosts just because they cant transform. It's better to have different movesets rather than have an advantage. Also people keep saying clone this, clone that, so this way would shut them up.
Funny, it's been like that with Dimps since the very beginning, transformed people having bigger stats then others and nobody had a problem with it, and NOW some do?
Previous Dimps games didn't separate forms from their characters because of the transformation system tho.

I'm pre-ordering the game next week, the combat mechanics and CaC are enough to get me exciting.
I pre ordered the game as well, we should all encourage and support a game like this that way we can get more higher quality successive releases in the future.
Transformations in this case are handled far worse than they were in previous games, although I'm all for Gotenks and Gogeta not being temporary forms so that's nice.
I'd much rather in-game transformations for everyone, with those transformations just being less powerful for balance, and the ki drain being something that is still present but doesn't force you out of the form.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I believe 2 player battles are only restricted to the World Tournament stage. HUD refers to the info of the characters on screen: Health, Ki, Stamina, etc.

Budokai 3 and Infinite World kinda did. Omega Shenron instead of Syn in Budokai 3 and GT Vegeta in Infinite World...unless the regular one had SSJ4 too, I'll take that back if he did.

In Budokai 3 they didn't separate Syn from Omega they just didn't have Syn, here they're separating the Freeza and Cell forms. And yes, Vegeta had SSJ4 in his non-GT version.

Well 3D Dragon Ball fighting games, and Spike specifically, don't have a good history when it comes to splitscreen fighting. It got really bad when the Raging Blast series came round. J-Stars Victory Vs, a game developed by Spike no less, had some of the worst splitscreen fighting I've ever seen. Dimps most likely didn't want to take that chance and stuck to 2.5D fighting view because its worked like a charm for them in the past.
At the very least are we able to select maps in 1P vs COM?

That actually sounds cool, I could get used to that and after playing for awhile work with it well.
That is clunky as hell, you have to switch your view and controls to check their current ki and stamina. All that when they could just simply show their HUD? I wonder what the hell Hirano was smoking when he approved some of the choices in this game.
I got a feeling that there is going to be a crap ton of DLC for this game, one of them will probably be a movie pack that includes all the main movie characters.
As for the character roster, it's still more organised than the crap we got in Tenkaichi 3, what the hell is the point of 3 Goku's? My gripe with the roster is how unimportant characters are made over someone else, for example, you can play as Appule but Cell's imperfect forms aren't there.
That aside though, it still doesn't take away the hype I have for this game. I haven't been this excited for a DBZ game since Tenkaichi 2 (my favourite DBZ game by the way). Character creation alone is what got me hyped.

I honestly have a feeling movie character are already in the game but you have to unlock them through quests. I mean one of the achievements spoils that Broly is gonna be in the game. And I know Broly is popular and all but I remember when Dimps specifically stated that there would be no movie characters. Then all of sudden Beerus and Broly are thrown in. Nothing is certain as far as the roster goes. So I won't make conclusions on that. But the thin that has me hyped about the game the most in the fact that in God knows how many years, the story mode of a Dragon Ball fighting game will actually have genuine replay value in it.

I think the situation is, aside from Battle of Gods, there wouldn't be any story quests for movie characters. That doesn't stop them from actually being in the game.
I still find it funny (and ironic) that Beerus is one of your possible teacher choices in the game.

Unlocking them does make more sense since it is Dimps, they're complete assholes when it comes to unlocking characters (the research that I had to do just so I could unlock Broly in Budokai 3 ).
