Not much actually. It's a common misconception that building a gaming PC in general costs 'thousands of dollars' when you could build a decent one for maybe $600, at most $800. I've built about 3 over the years and one was even for my senior project to show that it's not only easy to build a gaming PC but it's not that expensive either. (I made the whole thing for about $750 and it lasted me 4 years) If you want a machine that will last you YEARS without having to do any upgrades over time then yeah...you'll be dipping your toes into the 4 digit area but if you know where to look you can build one up proper that can run circles around xbone and PS4 for a good price. Heck there are guides all over the net to help get you started on doing that even.
Yeah, precisely. And when he says 'last you', it doesn't mean you won't be able to play your games, it just means you'll be lowering settings as more demanding stuff comes out. Near enough all the time, it still offers a better experience than consoles.

The website I work for actually does monthly build guides that showcase the best builds for the best price for that month. Once you get your parts, you can follow the Newegg guide on how to build a pc. It is incredibly simple. It's just like LEGO!

If you're nervous at all, you could always find someone with a little more expertise to watch over you while you do it.

You just want to avoid buying prebuilds, really. They're absurdly expensive and the build quality is very hit and miss from company to company.

PC Gaming has a higher buy-in, it's true. $800 is a sweetspot price and that's significantly higher than a console. However, when you take into account that you don't pay for online, you have access to cheaper games, Steam sales and HumbleBundles, it's cheaper in the longrun by a HUGE amount.

Case in point: I just paid £24 for Xenoverse. £24 for free online, 60fps+ and scalability for years to come. How much did everyone just pay for the console version?

If you're not one for sitting at a desk, you can just hook it up to your TV and sit back with your controller on the other side of the room. It's a wonderfully versatile option that I wish more people would consider.

If you need any help should you decide to go for it, don't hesitate to drop me a message.

I would say, if you're going to do it, don't cheap out because you DO get what you pay for. I built mine almost two years ago for about $1,000 and it has served me very well. You could shave off some cost from that if you don't go with a solid state drive or BD drive. I'd say $800-$1000 is a pretty good sweet spot for a dependable machine that will last you a good bit before needing to upgrade.

The only thing I'm looking to do with mine is upgrading the video card, which would be about $300, which ain't so bad. Would get me through this gen no problem.
Mine cost me $500 not including monitor and keyboard+mouse. I can play most new games on high settings with a steady frame rate. It's possible to be kind of budgetary if you know what corners to cut.

I haven't really been following this game at all in the past year it was announced. I plan to go in pretty much blind.

Goodness I still haven't had to lower graphics settings yet. My rig is about 5 years old at this point and I expect the big guy to last another 4 at best and it was pricy, though I did save tons with discounts and the parts without all the discounts I abused would come out to about $2k but I paid about $1.4k. Not to brag I swear but it's just to show the point that making a long lasting machine does get costly because you're paying a lot of money for higher end parts now but those parts will become the standard down the road. Plus the point of things like steam sales and humblebundles is true. I got a ton of games via bundle! To roll us back to on topic town. I think this discussion has sold me on picking up the steam version as well. Just to see the comparison.
Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

I purchased a pc off gumtree in Australia for $1000. It is a complete beast. I used to run an old laptop and this machine is at least 10x better no. It can be off and literally be on the net in about 10 seconds, I love it. If you're worried about a control for PC don't, there are heaps of options, I'm loving the wireless 360 controller.

Now I have a dilemma. The one downside is that on PC I have to sit in my desk chair and am restricted to my monitor which isnt as comfortable as sitting in the lounge. I bought a PS4 cheap when I could in anticipation for Xenoverse and Arkham Knight but it seems love and care really isn't being put into these ports. So comfort of lounge room and bigger vs better frame rate and free internet... This is annoying why couldn't PS4 just be 60 fps!

Can you only use an xbox controller? Not PS4?

There are a few methods for getting a PS4 control to work on PC. I don't think they are too complicated and I believe it is very easy if your PC somehow has a bluetooth connection. I've used a PS3 control as well but that required a little more setup. Nothing a youtube guide wont show you though and I'm not too computer smart and I figured it out. The xbox control for PC is by the the easiest though. Plug in the wireless usb adapter and bam, good to go.

No, you can use a PS4 controller, it just requires one extra bit of software whereas the Xbox one is plug and play. Keep in mind that 99% of games only have Xbox prompts though.

I just LOVE how there's specific dialogue in the parallel quests you do. No matter what characters you pick, there's bound to be at least some sort of talk between you and the opponent. For example, in the stream I'm watching right now Burter (the character the streamer chose) was conversing with Vegeta (the enemy) with Beerus (streamer's backup) making an interjection. It's so awesome :D

Just seen Vegeta has an alt with a halo with his buu saga arc clothes.

Teen Gohans second alt is the same outfit.

People in the stream are saying SSJ Gotenks is confirmed, haven't seem him yet though.

He's the other version of Gotenks. One has SSJ3 while the other has SSJ

I'm loving the soundtrack so much from the videos I've seen. We haven't gotten such an awesome one since Burst Limit, perhaps even earlier!

Frieza and Beerus had a conversation in one of the parallel quests I did. Not sure if default stuff or if they're actually talking.

Been watching multiple streams, and people at different levels of completion have different stuff unlocked. Some have Buu Arc characters and less costumes for characters, while others are the opposite.

Yet none of them seem to have unlocked the alternate costumes for Freeza, Cell or Buu to see if they have their Fiendish alternates, and nothing on Towa, Mira or Demigra either. :/

I still have faith in Dimps until I'm proven otherwise.

I really hope I'm not proven otherwise.
