I like the American cover. Sure the other one has more characters on it but the American cover has Trunks!

She also appears in Dragon Ball during the General Bue arc and in DB Movie 3.

I think it feels like it pretty much always does: the Japanese cover is a fitting illustration, and the American cover is an ugly and kinda "what the hell?" collage.
Yeah, the American covers do look rather 'cut & past'.
That shot of DBZ Goku reflected in Trunks' sword almost looks like it's copied straight from the show.

He's on the Japanese cover, too. Just less prominent.

I don't particularly get why #13 is on the side. Then again, I'm not sure why there was such a big deal about Tullece and #13 in this game, anyway. Where's the love for Hildegarn?

...Damnit. I left my antimatter at home, already ate two of the donuts, and my grail is currently housing some hawaiian punch. Can't help here. Sorry.

Same. I'm loving the American cover's simplicity. I've always preferred the Japanese ones, but I think this one (along with the Japanese Sparking! and Super DBZ covers) is too cluttered. It's not bad though, beats a lot of other covers out there, like the American Budokai 3 cover.

Yes, it is simple... too simple.
One character... and Trunks!? Why Trunks? Why choose such a random character out of the 130 'characters' in the game?
It was quite litterally a cut and paste job, and them editing them to look fresher. Such as, the Trunks is from UB22, and the several Goku's in his sword are from different parts of the series.
I've always been confused as to why they don't just keep the great looking original covers. Oh well, doesn't bother us here in the UK! ^^

Cover art that had effort put into it > slapped together promotional artwork.

Seriously. The Japanese covers feature new artwork drawn specifically for the games. Atari, on the other hand, has just been doing to the games what FUNi has done to the DVDs by slapping already existing art together half-assed like.

While artwork can be mimicked, not everyone can draw as well. However, something that uses basic Photoshop can easily be done and requires little to no talent or skill. :|

Here's my concept of what the cover should look like (just imagine Vegeta and Goku, instead of Dante and Lucia):

It'd look cool, right? No?

Vegeta as being taller! Goku as a girl!

That would look crazy!

Fair enough. It's cut and paste, but I've always believed that simple artwork, when executed correctly, looks wonderful. I guess you could call me a minimalist.

I still think Budokai 2 has the best cover art, out of all the North American releases at least.

Then again, I like shiney things.

So have we heard anything from an official source about the Japanese voices being in the NA release. I know that we just kind of expect it at this point but still, I'd like to know for sure.

Not bad. I had a feeling they'd end it with part of the game's actual opening or at least throw some of it in there.
On hiatus.

finally got around to playing the game.
i didn't like the first one as much but i'm digging this game! especially with the original music from the series, it makes it very nostalgic. i do wonder...how in the heck are they going to top this game?

adventure mode also reminds me of the story mode in Budokai 3.
