Wow, the genuine anger some of you guys have over Funimation actually showing love to the fanbase just because of your own personal opinion of said person's work is pretty petty and disconcerting

It's jealousy mostly. I for one am glad for it. And people do gotta think; if Funimation, Toei, Toriyama, Bandai Namco, or any other affiliated company, had a problem with TFS and any of their group doing any of this, like abridging the series, then they would've hit them with a CnD and we'd never have gotten the chance to enjoy them. Like with what happened to "Attack on Titan Abridged". But they didn't stop Taka and Kaiser and Larry or any of them. They let it continue and it has served quite well. Because it kept people interested in DBZ. It kept the spirit and fun of it alive, even after production for the show had long stopped and even when the games got pretty bad after Budokai 3.

TFS kept DBZ going and kept the fanbase hoping to see even more. Not just of the Abridged series, but more from the companies. To see if their love of the franchise would pay off and they'd be rewarded with something truly good and fun. BoG was a good start, and Xenoverse is making a lot of people even happier. And I hope this continues. I hope they continue to rebuild the love and joy people have for DBZ without tripping up and taking it back to the "GT Final Bout" era of terribleness.

So I thank Toei/Funi and co for letting them continue, and I thank TFS and co for continuing to make us laugh. And I thank NamBan/Dimps for allowing them to be part of Xenoverse. It's an amazing ride, and everyone should just sit back and enjoy it.

You know, I got to thinking on it too, and really this isn't any different than any other 'joke' voice option that games will occasionally have. I think it was some of the Saints Row games that have a 'Zombie' voice option, and then another one (possibly still that series) literally has a 'Nolan North' voice option.

I respect that TFS has a body of work that is enjoyed by a large portion of the fanbase, myself included. But no part of it has any place in anything official. The "I HATE THE MEDIA" line is a fine example. It was bad enough that the original dub was such a godforsaken mess. Do we really need to punch up Kai's script with a TFS reference of all things in a dub that's meant to be a second chance? It's nonsensical and completely out of place. I'm not saying that Kai would be 100% accurate without it, or that the TFS bit somehow completely ruins Kai on the whole either. But artistically, it was the wrong thing to do for the wrong reason to do it. It's the same case here with Xenoverse.

I'm sure that TFS has relationships with many of the creative forces behind Funimation DragonBall. That's great for them. Maybe they could even find a way to release Abridged on DVD one day because of it. Great for us! But this thing where a fan production starts bleeding into official releases that are supposed to be the genuine, SEPARATE product just does not sit well with me. Yeah, I'm sure that a lot of fans will love Taka in Xenoverse. Even people who don't know what Abridged is will use it and enjoy it. But from my standpoint, I can't see a reason for its inclusion beyond being gratuitous.

Abridged is great stuff. But it's not something that I need to have shoved into my genuine DragonBall.

One line in one episode of a 100+ show and a couple of lines for the voice of a male CAC in a videogame don't really seem constitute as something that seems forced or shoved into anything. I mean some Dragon Ball fans don't even know about TFS or DBZ Abridged so it's not like it will ruin the experience. Of course if you don't like the voice, you don't have to choose it, it's simply an option.

And for the record, this is not your Dragon Ball to enjoy, this is everybody's Dragon Ball to enjoy. And as you stated, practically everybody who know about TFS or DBZ Abridged is going to love this. I mean this isn't the first instance of something fan-related being acknowledged and officiated with a brand name or product. This sort of stuff has been going on for years. And sometimes it actually improves the product.

It's been too long since I watched Curse of the Blood Rubies with it's new dub to say for sure, but...I think her GT Goku is pretty much literally her Luffy voice. Ah well, was to be expected.

Still going to be kind of disappointed if GT Trunks is actually a separate character.

Is...Is that still Elise Baughman as Pan? It kind of sounds like her, but at the same time, it doesn't. Is...hmm. Is it maybe Kara Edwards (Videl)?

Wait, what? You are frigging telling me that the voice of TFS Nappa made it to Xenoverse? How in the world is it possible that one of the unofficial dub voices got hired to do the voice for Xenoverse? Is that why it got delayed for the U.S. release?

I don't get it. Why are you upset about it. Not like you're forced to pick that voice or anything. It's fan service. Isn't the first time fans got involved in a game.

Clinkenbeard as GT Goku sucks imo, Pan's voice sounds different, Nova's the same, I'm not sure about Eis because I don't even remember what he sounded like in GT, and now I'm not sure if Syn/Omega is definitely Bob Carter.

And that "I'm your momma" remark from Frieza is probably gonna revive the gender debate.

Of course they won't announce this yet, because they still want to push the preorders, but I'm starting to wonder if DLC Pack #2 won't be San Xing Long, Si Xing Long and SS4 Vegeta (for those who didn't). If that turns out to be true, then I'm going to feel a little gypped, as I'll end up paying for the content I was supposed to be getting free access to. :/
