I need help please!

Post by rammfan87 » Fri Oct 20, 2006 9:45 am

A long time ago, I had this wonderful midi. It was called "Vegeta's Theme," and it was my absolute favorite. This was before I knew what mp3s were, so midis were all that I had. :P

Anyway, one day I accidentally deleted it from my computer. And I have looked absolutely everywhere for it. Every "Vegeta's Theme" midi I've listened to isn't the same. So I'm beginning to wonder if it was even from DB/Z/GT at all. If not, please forgive me.

I have composed a midi of what it sounded like. Keep in mind I have no musical talent or rythm, so it may sound a bit off. The tune you're about to hear occurs about 20 seconds into the original that I had.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. This was important to me, and I would love to hear it again. Thank you so much in advance! :D

This doesn't sound like it was in anything db-z-gt related.

This is not a helpful comment in any way, shape, or form. Please re-read the forum rules. Thanks.

I'd like to help, but I'm not about to download some random file from one of these file-sharing places. If anyone wants to directly-link to the MIDI, I'm sure I can help identify it :). We had a thread in the past where it ended up that half of the songs someone labeled as DBZ were actually from Ranma...

You're not thinking of the Bruce Faulconer one are you?

The one with the bells?
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

OF COURSE ITS NOT BRUCE FAULCONER!! *turns off caps lock* :P

It's just a midi I heard long ago, which I'm 100% sure is not by Faulconer. It just sounded like it would have been a song with lyrics.

I got a direct link to the midi now.

Hope that works. Savefile doesn't like hotlinking, if that's what I did...

Well it's honestly not anything I recognize from the original Japanese anime or image song CDs. Only other possibility is from one of the video games, which I'm not as familiar with the soundtracks for. Other than that, it may be related to the Funi dub music or simply not have any actual connections to DB at all. Music downloads are notoriously mislabelled all the time. Especially on big file-sharing type sites such as Rapidshare or with programs like Ares.

I've checked all the video game songs I could find. My only worry is that it's from a different anime. I hope its no big deal if I've made a mistake by posting this thread if it is from a different anime.

Definitely nothing from DragonBall. As far as I can tell, it's nothing more than someone recording from a MIDI keyboard with the single piano instrument (things are off-timed, etc.).

It sounds vaguely similar to Tifa's theme in Final Fantasy VII, but that's about it :D.

Yes, I made that midi myself. ^^; I have no musical talent.

The only reason I made it was to help me find it by letting others hear it.

Is there any way I can search for songs from the notes? I've tried sheet music searches, but I don't know the song name.

By the way, thanks for your help, VegettoEX. I'll try to look for that song you described.

No, it's not the song I heard. Maybe I should give up hope. Thanks anyway, everyone for your help.

A-ha! I was going to say, it really sounds like someone just trying to play a song from memory on a MIDI keyboard :). I used to do that all the time... in fact, if you look hard enough, you can find some really awful keyboard arrangements of me playing things like "Hikari no WILLPOWER" and Tapion's theme... ^^;;

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

It's funny, the first four notes made me think it was going to go into "1000 no Kotoba" from FFX-2. >>

I'm pretty sure it's not from FFX-2. I heard it long before that game came out.

It seems this song I had isn't from DB at all, at least according to all of you friendly people. I apologize for any time I have wasted. Also for having this thread in the wrong place, if it isn't from DB. Thanks for all your help anyway, guys. :?

Hey no worries. You assumed it was from DB so it wasn't off topic. 8)
