Gameplay videos? unless you mean one where some someone explains and list pros and cons (which is still a review). Otherwise this post is redundant; Still vague..
Friends? not everyone has friends that are as interested in certain show/anime

2-12$ isn't going to rip your pockets. Or you can use game fly and rent multiple of games. Umm yea. Gameplay videos tell a lot. Even if rookies are playing. You can see there's more than what shown. If you don't have friends that own than then simply rent or view for yourself.

We're already getting gamplay videos...the best one being the one I posted where i said i'd be buying it first day if not for the bad review on the gameplay, which has just made me 'hesitant' and needing a 'better review'; Gameplay videos without explanation dont let you know the games difficulties...

You can rent from gamefly for just 5.99 with 2-3 games at a time. I'm very independent when it comes to money. I just don't think 12$ is going to kill you. I mean you can always just save if renting cost to much. Gameplay videos tell a lot. I've already learn how to dodge certain attacks and certain combos.

Unless reviews are saying the same negative shit(Like UNITY being glitched) I would just form your own opinion. Or just wait for price to go down.

Just finished watching. I was just anxious to see what kind of dialogue could occur between Demigra and Bills (yes, BILLS. That is how he is called here in my country and it is NOT wrong). And I was curious to know if the dialogues were, at least slightly, changed in Bardock's scenario. Well... I must say that Gine was alluded, that was unexpected and awesome!

IGN still get shit for that review, and more specifically, that negative against the game.

Though I said "Bardock's scenario", this actually takes place in Broly's scenario. At the end of it, Supreme Kai of Time found Bardock dreamy and wondered if he has a girlfriend, Patrol Trunks says he has a wife. XD That caught my whole body, I never would expect something like that.

'I'm very independent'? well maybe youve got a really good job or rich..with this kind of thinking 'I just don't think 12$ is going to kill you' its either one or the other, or maybe your just not experienced enough yet.

I mean difficulty in contols, something you can only learn first hand after some time while playing , or from someone with similar taste and similar level of skill in competitive games/other hardcore gamers.

Or just wait for price to go down? I will after if it gets several bad reviews from several people i consider credible enough.

or if i win the lotto i'll pick it up regardless..

And hell no to gamefly..i'm already having problems with monthly bills, definitely dont want to add to them. especially not to just rent one game.

Started watching the English versions of Xenoverse to take notes on the game, but gave up after Raditz since they skipped story content between him and Nappa. Anyway, couple of things noticed so far (and one spoiler mention from later in the game)...

Spoiler:

Some basic info from up through Raditz:

• Toki Toki City supposedly exists in the "Toki Toki World" (Would that be Time Time Realm in Japanese?) and the flow of time gathers there. Hoping for a bit more info later in the game or from NPCs or something.
• Book of Endings and Beginnings is called the "Scroll of Eternity" in English. Trunks says it contains all of time/history and that it's becoming distorted.
• This is probably only an issue in the English version, what with Japan typically lacking plurals for context, but Trunks sends you back in time using the previously mentioned scroll. Once you return after fixing it, he proceeds to say that you solved the problem without any side-effects...but that the scroll you used wasn't the only one with problems. Whut? Trunks, why you lie to me?
• The precursor to the full Fiendish form, the version where they only have the dark aura and occasionally have eyes that glow red, is stated to multiply the character's power.

And the biggest potential story problem with the game:
So, as most of us here who watched the Cell Arc know, Trunks clearly states that you cannot change the past. Attempting to do so will only cause a paradox and cause the timeline to split in order to prevent this problem. Trunks starts off the game seemingly acknowledging this when he summons you via Shenlong, by stating that "when history goes off course, it creates a 'false' timeline." Once you reach the Time Storage Vault, he has apparently changed his tune and claims that "if history is altered or distorted, it could change the world as they know it."

This also becomes a bigger plot point later in the game when Towa invades his timeline and the changes lead to Trunks starting to disappear. Now, with the rules set in place by the series itself, this shouldn't be remotely possible. Though I fully admit that I've only watched up to Raditz in English, so I suppose why this seems to be possible now could be addressed later on. If not though, Giant gaping continuity hole.

I know most people just see it as a just a game, and that's fine. If I can make it work in a continuity, regardless of media format, I would prefer to do so though.

They definitely set Xenoverse up for a sequel or at least to be the prequel of some altered form of Dragon Ball Online.

Maybe the Time Breakers can override that somehow. And speaking of plotholes, there's a huge one in the Buu Saga thanks to the game sticking to the DBZ story. You should've been fighting Kid Buu alongside Goku alone, with Vegeta showing up later, and Hercule being blown to shit with the rest of Earth's population.

Man, I'm always tempted to read the spoilers or watch videos to see the ending. Normally with movies and stuff I read spoilers, I prefer to have something to look forward to, that gets me more hyped than being surprised. But with DBXV I've so far refrained from learning any of the major details about the ending, but maaaaan the temptation is real.

Hmm. That's interesting. I suppose I'll keep watching and taking notes then, just so I can actually enjoy most of the game without having to worry about this stuff once it's released here. I'll only worry about the stuff they skip.

It seems that's the case. I don't know if it's the Time Breakers directly, or if Demigra is somehow behind this new possibility for altering history with time travel, but Trunks reinforces that altering history without creating a new timeline shouldn't be possible once you come back from fighting Vegeta. Though the Time Kaioshin proceeds to compare what they are doing with what Trunks did in the Cell Arc. That seems a bit confusing, but it does appear they're actually addressing the issue. Hopefully we get an full answer and it doesn't just get glossed over with all the other happenings.
