You can try and make the argument that Freeza's race just has better potential than Saiyans but then why did he never train after losing to Goku the first time? Going by this new story he could have had the power to squash both Trunks and Goku if he had only trained two months. Why is he even stopping at 4 months in the new movie when he could carry on training for a year and become so OP that he outclasses characters like Beerus?

Think of it like this, I get B on my Math exam, but I still am confident I can get an A next time this time making sure I make no mistakes, I still get a B. So now I study for four months knowing that is enough to achieve my goal, and so why study for a year if it is going to achieve the same goal? Beerus is like an a further maths exam and I failed it miserably the first time and so getting the perfect grade in the math exam is my number one focus right now, then I will study for the further math exam.

Or you could look at it this way, 4 months is what Freeza assumes is enough time to revenge based on the fact Goku and co is training too. And the Z fighters have cheating devices too like the HTC etc. So if Freeza takes any longer then what is necessary he runs the risk of facing a Goku that is on par with him or stronger.

Hell being cute and cuddly is something that I imagine Toriyama would create. People on Earth imagine Hell being dark and evil while it end up being totally different. Hell in the DBZ manga seems like the type of Hell that the Yugopotamias from The Fairly Odd Parents would imagine .

Considering Freeza wants revenge on BOTH Goku and Trunks, it's a safe bet that Trunks and Goten will be in the movie. Gotenks vs Freeza anyone?

I personly think Freeza is going to get some sort God powers to defeat Goku. It won't make any sense if it's just training. Maybe if Freeza trains using the technology he possesses + immortality he has a little chance to win. Anyway. Toriyama Is going to surprise us with Freeza training; you'll see.

Without more context I can't tell if you're agreeing or dismissing Battle of Gods being in Age 778. I'm assuming by "based on an event" you mean either Pan's birth or Beerus waking up after 39 years. But for what it's worth, that date (Age 778) is also recorded in the Chozenshuu.
