Bruce Faulconer Rescores Thread

Post by TJVY » Sun Feb 22, 2015 1:20 am

Originally this topic was for one of my videos, but I took it down as I was no longer satisfied with it. I was gonna ask for this thread to get locked, but we could always use it as a place to post Bruce Faulconer rescores. :D

It's ok, but no real effort to try and get the music to match the shots, especially with the first theme, it's just put on the background and left to run.

Meh. I think it could have been done better. Or maybe Faulconer just doesn't go well with the scene.

Ah damn, that was something I was trying to avoid as that's what most of the other Bruce Faulconer fan-dubs tend to do, by rewatching I can see it myself now too. Thanks for the criticism though, I'll keep in mind to keep the score more consistent with the shots next time.

Thanks for watching, hopefully you'll find my next video more enjoyable. Yeah I agree, it's a possibility, I find his score doesn't go quite as well with BoG as it does when rescoring the movies/specials and even GT.

I love that SSJ3 theme.

I love that SSJ3 theme.
You see, that sounded natural. Exactly the kind of "Elevate the TV series music to a theatrical scale" (Although not really) that Pokemon always does.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

It's a good theme, but I don't think it's really appropriate for that scene, maybe for the SSJ God ritual though!

On the subject of rescores, i just happened to recently rescore a scene myself, although it wasn't with the BF score (Shuki Levy score instead) but i'd thought i'd share it here anyway
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL1gdx9qg9w

It was for a scene in the Ocean dub of Dead Zone which originally used the Kikuchi score, i always wondered how the Ocean dub of the first two movies would sound with the Levy/TV score.

I think that was a pretty solid edit in all honesty, any plans to do others like that?

Well a couple of days ago i tried to sync the Levy score to some Captain Ginyu Saga episodes, but it was impossible to do without completely removing all the dialogue since the Faulconer BGM was used non-stop in those episodes. I could upload some of that stuff, but it would just be animation and music, with no dialogue.

But the Faulconer BGM is always non-stop. :?
Why don't you try picking a silent moment from the Kikuchi score version instead?

I might as well take this opportunity to plug my YouTube channel. My videos (all four of them) use the Faulconer score, although I only edited the video--I didn't mix the score or handle the placements.

There's this one guy on YouTube who's done edits of entire DBKai sagas with the Faulconer music. His stuff got taken down, sadly, but they were some pretty good edits.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

According to this reddit post (http://www.reddit.com/r/dbz/comments/2j ... e_perfect/), there was also someone doing Faulconer edits with the beginning of Kai too. But he was unfortunately removed from youtube. I wish there were some way to get those audio files.

Faulconer's Vegeta theme synced with the Big Green dub
