I'd say losing 20% of the picture and having the image scrubbed of detail is more than a little lame.

So, yeah, like ABED said, I do hope you're joking.
I don't, I watched Kai in Widescreen on my TV and was great... I think that you guys that are joking here lol

Ehh, the crime isn't watching DBZ in widescreen, I crop my Dragon Boxes from time to time and its amusing enough, it's releases that default to a crop because the publisher assumes the consumer does not realize they have options.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

Can you stop writing lol? I have no idea if you are busting our balls. Is widescreen really that great? How is a cropped image better than the full image? Does filling your TV screen really mean that much to you?

I never thought cropping was that big of a deal either to be honest. Least in the case of Kai or fan-cropping. Hell even orange bricks wasn't a HUGE lost to me. The enjoyment isn't the same.

I, and I know I'm not alone on this, thought Episode of Bardock and Dragon Ball Minus were garbage (strangely enough, both include Bardock as the main character). The animation of any new material is also subpar compared to what it could be.

bardock could get a zenkai.if goku went from 180,000 to 60,000,000 in freeza saga, then bardock could get from 10,000 to 3,000,000

If a series is made for a widescreen aspect ratio, watch it on widescreen. If a series is made for the old TV aspect ratios, watch it as such.

One of the things I took away from my Film Studies class in college was that a film or show should always be watched in the intended aspect ratio (don't want stretching/squishing images).

Do you have to end every statement with LOL?

The quality of the image is as bad as the cropping, so no, the image quality isn't increased. I've tried widescreen and that's how I know it's horrible. Thanks to the Dragon Boxes, I never have to see it cropped again if I don't want to. Wouldn't you rather see the entire frame?
Hell even orange bricks wasn't a HUGE lost to me.
How is it not a huge loss? You're losing the image.

The quality is god awful. There are plenty of people on this site that can explain how terrible the season sets are better than I can.

So what? Bardock is the main character of the first TV Special and it is the best thing ever to came out for the Dragon Ball franchise.

You're right! But they throw shit in Bardock puting him in these weird new stories, it kinda stains his character

Oh man... After "Broly Super Saiyan 4", this is by far the lamest thing to come out, with no doubt. What have they done?

I expected something similar to Super Saiyan God, something "basic", but this? Not even a detail, just him being gold?
