This movie was neither made meticulously nor supremely scrutinized. It is simple entertainment, and it should be enjoyable for both long time fans and those who have not seen Dragon Ball before, as was Battle of Gods. Add that to the fact that the Cell Saga was over 20 years ago, and you will find that there are many things that aren't air tight with the comic. They don't need to be.

I think it would've been a good idea to have Freeza travel to the demon realm and get his latent power drawn out/get trained by a Makaioshin. I think it would make for an interesting paralel, as Goku and co get training assistence and power ups from Gods, Freeza gets his from demons.

Read the manga special, good read but I have two questions.

1. How did the pieces of Mecha Freeza that were put into the chamber turn into first form Freeza?

I think this is the one big question I have about everything. All the other things I can justify (Either in-universe or storytelling-wise) but this one does have me scratching my head a bit. Hopefully we'll get an explanation.
