Couldn't they came up with something better than purple and gold?! If they wanted to used gold so bad, they could choose another second color.

But gold and purple are supposed to be the symbols of royalty, right? And Freezer is a prince acting and speaking as such (King Cold's son = prince). So it sorts of fits his ultimate depiction to have purple to go with the gold.

They who? The only one that ruined Bardock's character was Akira Toriyama himself.

In Dragon Ball Online, they gave Bardock a worth plot.
In Episode of Bardock, she gave Bardock a little of glorious.
In Victory Mission, he gave a scene with Bardock using Super Saiyan 2 to fight.
In Minus... What did the author gave him other than change his design for nothing?

I can't speak about DBO.
In Episode of Bardock, Bardock's magnificent death was thrown out of the window, they found an asspull way of turning him Super Saiyan without even explaining how he came back to the past.
Again, makes no sense.
Nothing, which is why Toei's interpretation of Bardock is still the best.

I preferred the CGI in BoG to the rest of it, so I'm fine with this.

The thing with story telling and plot holes is that, the more satisfying the story and elements, the less you care about plot holes. However nothing is really satisfying me that much, so issues stick out more and more. In the manga while there were issues, there's plenty of satisfying stuff to make you overlook them. That's what a good story does, make you suspend your disbelief of the plot holes, because it was entertaining enough. It's pretty hard to have a story without some holes. Right now FnF just seems like more GT. GT even had our other characters doing something like this in the Super 17 arc. Or it could turn out like Movie 3 where Goku had to take out the mooks cause everyone sucks.

One thing Battle of Gods had that GT lacked was Toriyama writing the characters. The comedy and character interactions felt more 'natural', I guess might be the right word, than it did in GT. FnF, it stands to reason, will have the same qualities in that regard, due to having Toriyama at the helm for the writing. Now on the other hand, one thing I'm not thrilled about is the artstyle, animation, and 3D, which were all garbage in BoG, and I expect to be garbage here. That CGI shot of Freeza up there only confirms this.

But I went in expecting all of that, so it's not killing any hype.

When you look back at Freezer's "normal" final form, he seems so simplistic and weak in comparison of his gold form.
I noticed it from the screenshot where he screams (supposedly transforming). That thin, organic white skin you could easily pierce through.

It's like when you go HD. It's when you go back to SD that you realize "oh, okay, that looks weak in comparison now".

I can agree that the characters with little time they have, do have better humour centering around them.

Incredible reading this from you. So you can't think of a way for Bardock going to the past? Dragon Ball itself doesn't give you some theories of how did that happen?

Yes, it would be way better if she explained, but she didn't. Even though, it is not a reason to say it is a bad OVA.
