I asked a friend of mine the same exact thing and I hope we do! I ordered the Jaco manga. I'm just waiting on the dang mail to get it to me. Is it really good?

I wouldn't say 'really good', but 'good' at least. I enjoyed it pretty well, and the character of Jaco himself is really enjoyable. As far as Toriyama's non-DB projects (which I guess it only barely counts as that, all things considered), I'd personally say...not as good as Sand Land, but better than Cowa? Yeah, that feels about right.

I'd expect an animated flashback to Jaco's story in the movie, at least.

That's possible, I suppose. At least enough of it to explain who he is, and how Bulma knows him, if he really is the 'that character' that tells Bulma about Freeza coming back.

In either case though, I wonder if they'll shy away from showing how Goku arrived in Jaco, since it conflicts so much with what we've seen in the anime before, including and most notably the end of the Bardock special.

So.....There isn't going to be a later edition that comes along that's actually uncut is there like with BOG? :P

The good shit just had to happen while I was away. ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN, CHOO-MOTHER-FUCKIN'-CHOO!"

I am so hyped for this movie now, even more so than I was for BOG at this stage. If you recall, the 2nd trailer for Battle of Gods didn't show anything particularly special, but this... Things have already come a long way since the first trailer. I almost squealed when I saw Jaco; it's moments like this that make me realize how much sense it maked to bring back Freeza. Everything just ends up being linked back to him in some shape or form. The animation did feel a little stiff, but the battle scenes did indeed look insane! I can't get over how well put together this trailer is. I thought the songs complimented everything very well. I'm pretty sure I'll be shaking when I hear F blaring out in the movie theatre for the first time. Those couple minutes were all so exciting and then at the end with those scenes of Earth seemingly blowing up...chilling, absolutely chilling. I won't be surprised if this ends on a cliffhanger. Certainly looks to be an entirely different mood from its predecessor altogether. Freeza's form...is honestly what I was expecting. It's simple, but it's kinda Toriyama. I really don't mind. I'm so excited that I don't even care. THIS TRAILER WAS FREAKING AMAZING! It really did hit all the right buttons. Breathes, I can't wait. This FEELS like a movie.

By the way, not sure if the staff are aware of this but there a few instances of porn 30 or 40 pages back. I'm guessing it's due to the original images being deleted and, er, replaced by other things.

Just curious. Quick trace of Freeza from the trailer, adapted to a manga scheme. How many people have a problem with the design itself, ignoring the colors?

This is what I was talking about at Saiyan Island. If you take the color away he doesn't look that different from his Final Form. That shows lack of creative mind. Looks like Beerus and Whis was the last creative beings AT had left.

Having seeing the new trailer, my take on Freeza's new form is his appearance. He looks similar to his brother, Coola but as far has his body goes, unlike Coola's next form, its his variant of his last form minus the purple plates on his shoulders, the golden skin on his torso, tail, head, shins, and armbands, the dark gold on his arms and legs and of course, he has a darker shade of lilac in his face, hands and feet.

So that's my take on Freeza's fifth form.

Anyone think all this hype will lead to a U.S. theatrical release by the end of the year, dubbed or subbed?

Frieza has a new form and, what do you know, some people like the way it looks and others don't... What a shocker.

In my opinion, AT did well, it would have been weird if Frieza's design changed completely, like some seem to really wished for.

His new deisign really makes sense too, as this form is something ENTIRELY separate from his prior ones. Remember, his prior "Final form" wasn't anything really special, as it's his first and all other changling's first and original form.

So really, his original form and all the "suppression" forms he had prior should be seen as the natural stages/altered looks of his race, where as this new form is something beyond his race's natural limits, something only frieza was able to accomplish. Similar to Goku turning ssj.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but Beerus was actually designed for a game, before Battle of Gods even existed. Am I correct?

No. Beerus was originally a lizard in the first version of Battle of Gods, and then Toriyama took over the writing and turned him into a cat based off one he owns. Nothing was ever mentioned about the design existing before that to my knowledge.

I don't want it to be completely different but I do want it to stand out from his other forms. This is the equivalent of repainting Bumblebee and calling it Cliffjumper. To me a new form should feel unique while also remaining in line with the others, Other then a paint change and some minor facial differances....This is still final form Freeza and that bothers me. Nothing screams unique in this...it just screams lazy and that breaks my heart because I like the designs AT comes up with when he goes nuts. That's why I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan. He is better then this, I know it, We all know it, and that's why it's hard to accept such a lazy design.

AT is getting old my friend. We just have to accept it and hope the creative minds of Dimps can come up with a true evolution of THIS "5th Form".

I mean... The legendary super saiyan, the most hyped and important transformation of the entire series was just Goku's hair waving around... And when it was in color, it was just blonde....

Goku has a different hairstyle as an SSJ. It's not hair waving around. Honestly if SSJ was designed with today's current mindset, it'd probably just look like this.
I think Toriyama is a genius when it comes to character designs for new characters, or changing outfits on our beloved characters. But I think he doesn't have much imagination for transformations anymore.

AT's SsjG design was FAR more distinctive than his regular ssj design... So what are you talking about?

SsjG completely changes Goku's physique and forms a constantly flaming aura around him.

Ssj just spikes his hair up...

Not really. SSJ God makes him skinnier...and recolours his hair. The only real distinctive thing is the aura.

SSJ spikes his hair up, changes the colour, bulks him up a little, and makes him actually look like he wasn't just having a colour touch up by some folk on deviantart. SSJ Goku could even pass as a new character if we changed his outfit and no one knew it was a form. Show SSJ God without anyone knowing what it is, and it looks pretty much like a red skinny Goku. Hardly different from his normal self. I doubt many people honestly would call SSJ God a far better design than SSJ. Hell it's so bad, it seems they may not even use it again. For such a defining form, it sure left as quickly as it came. It was even shoved out at the end of the last movie for SSJ. I wonder why? It's good for game developers as they hardly have to do jack shit to changing Goku's model in games.
