The rise of Daizenshuu EX

Post by Mr.Piccolo » Mon Oct 30, 2006 11:45 am

After being here for a few months I was just wondering, how popular has the site (and the webmasters) become since the podcast began to air. Do people recognize you more at conventions and other places. Also has the Daizex podcast, received any offers or promotionals from any other source of the media? A bonus question is this: have any board members or chat members met each other in person? Thats all for now... the coffee is done. :o

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

I've met Tanooki Kuribo, Kirbopher, EvilGamerX, kinoko, Saiyan, VegettoEX, Meri, & Julian when we did the podcast live recording at AnimeNext this past year. It was really awkward, but Tanooki seemed like a generally cool guy. Mike & the others were socializing amongst themselves. I wished I could've been a little more vocal, but doing a podcast live recording in the hotel room of someone (& a group of people) you only know through the internet can be a bit awkward. I guess that's why I was a bit on the low.

I've seen VegettoEX & the gang on AnimeNext 04', but that was when I was a bit of a noob to the series, but I didn't really "met" them persay. I'm glad I went to their panel otherwise I would've never known Daizenshuu EX.

There is no way that I am going to meet anybody from here. I live in India. And there is no way that in the near future I am going to come anywhere near America, or wherever any of you are living. In other words, simply put, I am not gonna be leaving India for a few years to come. So yeah, no way I am going to meet anybody from here. But I would love to. :D

Well, I live in New Jersey (yes, DragonBall HQs) and I feel bad for not taking the oppertunities to meeting with these guys because from what I understand, most conventions take place in this state and many forum members live in Jersey. The next summer convention is definately going to be my first appearance and hope to see you guys there..! :o

As far as I know, my sister is dragging me to Otakon next summer (If cosplay is ruled mandatory, I'm planning on Luffy).

If I'm there, I'll be sure to try and track people down, especially if Mike plans something.

well I only really found it when a friend of mine told me about and I was estatic to find a forum that didn't take any bullshit. It was also awesome to hear Meri Mike and Julian for the first time on the podcast. Made me feel all fuzzy.

Does anybody know when and where the next Otakon is? If the cosplay thing is really enforced, I might have second thoughts.. :)

It's usually in Baltimore, and it happens in late summer, like August.

Baltimore?! Crap, I was under the impression that most of these events took place in New Jersey. Damn it all. Are there any major events going on in the garden state?

It's not that far from Jersey, at least not if you're going to plan it as an all-day trip. My Dad drove my little sister and her friend there this year, and they stayed pretty much all day and were back the same night.

Then again, we live in South Jersey. Am I to assume you don't?

"AnimeNEXT" is in New Jersey. Specifically, Secaucus, NJ, in the Meadowlands Expo Center. That's about North Jersey & approx 20-25 minute drive from where I live.

Well, I sure hope that I could say something as confident as that. If only they would come and hold some conventions in India. I can guarantee that I would be there. But, I feel that is going to be just another dream......... T_T

I really want to go to Otakon...

This is a long shot, but does anybody on this board live in Ontario, Canada and go to Anime North or CN Anime (FanExpo)?
