Yeah, I would. I'd leave this franchise for good if he did. I say the Super Saiyan God shit almost ass-raped the series for me, even though the concept of it sounded cool. I also hope he stops after a third film, cuz I don't want this franchise to turn into One Piece, dragging on forever.

It won't become One Piece because Dragon Ball is already over. The new stuff is just a bonus.EXBadguy wrote:Yeah, I would. I'd leave this franchise for good if he did. A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

"Bonus" is from the Latin for "good", though. This new stuff should more properly be called "malus".FortuneSSJ wrote:It won't become One Piece because Dragon Ball is already over. The new stuff is just a bonus.

As long as they keep making stuff I wouldn't mind. Never thought the ending was all that great any ways. But if they just do a little more like make one more movie after F then no, it wouldn't be needed. Just set that movie before the final chapters.
Re: Would you mind if Toriyama ditches the Final Chapter & U
I really wish RoF took place after the 28th tournament the ending really does seem out of place.
The 10 years were supposed to be a time of peace yet they clearly were not.
I'd love a continuation of a manga.. doesn't have to be a long one but just a few extra chapters, I know AT isn't exactly young anymore but if he went and said "I'll do one chapter every month or two" would anyone really turn him down?

Off topic. But One Piece doesn't drag.EXBadguy wrote: I don't want this franchise to turn into One Piece, dragging on forever.

Well, the JUMP Special and the 2013 movie each took place within a single day. Maybe the 2015 movie takes place within a single day as well.JamesOwnz wrote:The 10 years were supposed to be a time of peace yet they clearly were not.
Three days out of ten years ain't too shabby.

You may want to re-think all of this, as its events cannot happen in the way you said.MagicBox wrote:Well, the JUMP Special and the 2013 movie each took place within a single day. I'm not sure what you mean. I said they each took place within a single day, not that they both took place on the same day.
Unless there's some other mistake that I made that I'm missing.

No, sorry. I misunderstood. Thank you for the clarification.
Even though, many fights and almost everything in Dragon Ball Z happen in the same day, not referecing to Buu saga, which many believe the whole Buu saga happened in the same day, which is not true. Considering we are talking about the movie(s), I don't think we may see the passing of a day. It never happened, as far as I can remember.

Actually, it does. And I'm a fan, I have dozens of volumes of the manga. But, yeah, it really does, especially lately.Drayenko wrote:Off topic. But One Piece doesn't drag.EXBadguy wrote: I don't want this franchise to turn into One Piece, dragging on forever.

The Buu arc spanned 2 days or so (but it is impossible to tell the time)MagicBox wrote:Well, the JUMP Special and the 2013 movie each took place within a single day. Cell was.. a week? maybe two counting the wait for the Cell games (Impossible to tell again)
Freeza was just over a week

I don't know what you guys define as "dragging" but One Piece definitely doesn't drag. There's always quality content and improvements. Bleach drags.

Because, even though the author is almost always good in what he does, he tends to add stuff that could be significantly shortened. Its really noticeable in this Dressrosa arc for example. And its also really noticeable when you read several other mangas with faster pacing. Anyway, off-topic.Drayenko wrote:I don't know what you guys define as "dragging" but One Poece definitely doesn't drag. There's always quality content and improvements. Bleach drags.

Re: Would you mind if Toriyama ditches the Final Chapter & U
It seems to me like these movies have already made the original ending impossible. Goku and Vegeta seem to have gained a ridiculous power increase over Kid Buu for one thing, but it also seems odd no one would make any reference to beerus, whis, Freeza returning or SSJ God. Speaking of which, that power increase makes everything Goku does questionable. Why would Goku be so excited to fight Uub? That's out of character for Goku. He only gets excited at the thought of a true challenge. The original ending only makes sense in the original context in which a battle starved Goku is excited to be able to fight again with his most challenging foe ever... Even if it means he has to train him.
The only way I could see it working NOW, is if Toriyama added a slight bit more to the ending to explain where Goku is going to go with Uub. He wanted to go to his village I think, but all it would take is a few panels where Goku says, "Hey!!! I know!!! I could take you to see my friend Whis!! ... When you're ready." Uub asks who that is and Goku explains that he is the person who trained the God of destruction!! Uub freaks out at this revelation and asks if he thinks he could ever really be that strong and Goku explains that, "Of course!!! I didn't think I would ever be able to go toe to toe with a God!!" Uub would then freak out again knowing just how strong Goku is now and then get excited at the prospect of being that strong like Goku does.
That's all it would take. Then you'd know Goku sees potential that outweighs his own in Uub and that he was intentionally holding back (which he was) in his fight with him just to see where he was at. I mean that's really what the original ending is all about anyway.
I guess it could fit as is with that in mind, but a few additional panels would make it fit perfectly.

I wouldn't mind since I didn't like the ending...
but maybe if it was edited so that the characters recognize Beerus or Freeza's revival at the begining would be good too.

It's pretty ridiculous for the kids to slack off so badly too, now that the ten years has had like five alien invasions.

Re: Would you mind if Toriyama ditches the Final Chapter & U
If the manga is still on the same arc that has been going on for almost two years now, then that is dragging, and that's what One Piece is doing right now. The Dressrosa arc is like the Buu saga, only much worse and longer. How many years will it take to find the treasure? Lemme guess 40 YEARS FROM NOW? Heck, I guarantee that half of us either won't be alive or won't remember jack shit about One Piece or any anime in general.Drayenko wrote:Off topic. I'm telling ya, I'm so glad DB ended. I love it, but I don't want it to drag on. If anything, make an alternate universe or something.
