I'm saying he's worked hard his whole life, and even if this form were him being lazy (Spoiler: It isn't), I'd say he's earned a bit a laziness over the years. Especially since he's doing this despite his 60th birthday being a stone's throw away. The man should be retired by now.rereboy wrote:
Are you suggesting that having a normal mangaka schedule until 1995, and only doing small things and collaborating with stuff after that, is proof that he works very hard?
If you want more meaning to it, then Gold/Purple are colors are often used to represent royalty. There ya go. As people have said earlier in the thread, though. I'd say it's just an in-joke with the fact that it comes out during Golden Week.Dyno wrote: Changing Freeza's fourth form from white to gold is indeed lazy, unless it has a deep meaning, which apparently not.
It's not lazy. It's simple, like many other transformations he's done in the past.
SSJ: Just spiked up gold hair. That's it.
SSJ2: Spiker gold hair. Add some lighting.
SSJ3: Keep the lighting. Make his hair longer.
SSJG: Make him a little more lean. Turn his hair red.
Kid Buu: Literally as the name says. Looks like Super Buu, just a little kid.
Even Cell's forms aren't that different between each stage.
Again, I'm left wondering what anyone was expecting (I don't even know what I was expecting). What did you envision his form to look like before? What did you want out of it? More muscles? Some spikes? Shoulder pads? I've got an idea; Let's start a topic in the "Fan Works" section. It'll be called "Draw Your Own Version of Freeza's New Form" and I'll take bets on how many schmucks put out the same shit we've been seeing in AF fanart for years. This is a man who, by his own admission, isn't a fan of big flashy transformations and loves to mess and flip around things that would be "typical".
I thought Jaco was great as well. It was simple, not over the top or flashy, and didn't worry about details. As for DBM, I had no problem with that. My only issue is that Goku was sent to earth in a Saiyan suit there, when originally he was naked. But, that's not a big deal to me in the end.Working for over 10 years is not an excuse for him to make Dragon Ball Minus so bad as it indeed is. He provided a wonderful job on Jaco, why can't he come up with something good for Freeza? Because he worked for over 10 years?
And for all we know, this could be a good thing for Freeza. I'm certainly excited.
Goten and Trunks look fine, agewise, in BoG. As does Marron.Kakarot9001 wrote: Are you serious? Toriyama is indeed lazy... Also you're saying that he "re-read his own series"? Well, I don't think so... Forgeting to change characters by their ages like Goten, Trunks and of course Marron. Forgeting about Bra, Gohan doesn't need SSJ anymore, Oob's power and some GT's facts... Toriyama is contradicting his own series with these new movies.
Bra wasn't born yet in BoG.
"Gohan doesn't need SSJ anymore"
I don't know what you're saying here, but I guess I agree? His use of SSJ in the film probably has an explanation we don't know yet or was just used for marketing or w/e because it "looks cool." They changed that whole fiasco with BoG so I doubt they'd make the same mistake again without a reason.
What about Uub's power? What GT facts? Aside from some designs and small things, Toriyama had nothing to do with GT.
