Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Everyone who thinks they should stop utilizing Toriyama for these movies and whatever else content they do... What is wrong with you? Just about everything created without his involvement has been mediocre to bad. That includes Episode of Bardock and the original Z movies. I'll give movie 12 and 13 a nod for being done almost to his level but nothing ever managed to match it.
Toriyama is the heart of DB. He's the one who understands the characters better then anyone else. Fine maybe you don't like Freeza coming back but Toriyama created the personality of Freezer and he knows better then any of us if that merits more interesting interaction and a further story to be told.
Really, I am just shocked by the level of fans turning on his work. I really do believe all the changes that happened throughout the anime having already been in front of most fans from the get go is part of the problem. When a lot of us got into the series we didn't live through the sudden change of Goku being an alien. It was already established so we went, "oh well he was an alien then." Some of us found out backwards that originally he WASN'T an alien. Now everyone is so used to how things have been they can't handle any further changes to the direction the story was headed.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
This threads been kinda boring the past few days, news seem to be slow.
I find the Toriyama criticism funny to be honest as Battle of Gods was far better than any of Toei's movies (none of them could begin to compare) and is obviously far better than that GT shit fest.
Whatever Toriyama comes out with this movie is going to be a hell of a lot better than anything that Toei or anyone on here could ever come up with. The Super Saiyan Devil Broly idea is the perfect example as to why it's best fans don't make the movies.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I think Toriyama would agree with this. I believe DB Minus stated that Freeza was Goku's arch-enemy or something of that sort and it seems Toriyama just keep on going back to Freeza in every new story after his original arc.Gianchio wrote:But everytime he returned was only for comic purposes. His character was humiliated too many times. I think he totally deserves this. He is finally returned to his status of main villain, like he should have ever been.
I always felt that Freeza is THE real villain of the whole series and he should be the final villain, because he is so much important in terms of story (a lot more than any other villain) and his grudge against Goku and the others is very, very high (he is probably the person Goku hates the most.
Toriyama may not think the same, but he probably thinks DB peaked in the Freeza Arc(and there are popularuty polls to back that up), but he couldn't end the series there, probably due it being so popular(yes, I know it hasn't been confirmed anywhere) and so had to keep coming up with new villains and stories. In fact, in my mind the series ends with the Freeza Saga.
Toriyama probably considers Freeza his ultimate villain, so he brings him back to at least not be the joke he had become by the Buu arc and have him surpass almost everyone.
Changing subjects..
What if Goku "absorbing" Beerus' blast was actually Goku sending it to another universe

Strange that we don't see to be getting as much info for F as we did for Battle of Gods.

It's the same s**t like with some guys: ''Music in the 80's was awesome, nowadays music sucks!'' Like what the hell?
I desperately need some news, not some: ''New puffy cakes in the shape of Muten Roshi's forehead now in all street underpasses in Tokyo''.
I really wanna know what happened to Trunks and Goten. My thought is that they would be probably on holidays on something offscreen and will return after everything is over.

Re: Toriyama
I'm not sure I fully understand it either. I think there are different perceptions of what people think Dragon Ball is or what they think it should be.
I personally loved BOG, and love seeing Toriyama!written Gokû again. Toei!Gokû doesn't even come close.
Re: news
The thread has been dull lately, I agree. This week should be good though.
Definitely feels like Shueisha's keeping a tight lid. I really wish they wouldn't. Some of the pent up negativity feels like it's coming from that.

Well, I didn't mean to suggest that he actively considers GT when coming up with new ideas. But I'm sure he's aware of some major plot points from it, like SSJ4.Tsufuru wrote:i dont think Toriyama even thinks about GT when makes the movies.

What they should have done was announce the movie in November instead of July, that way they would have been able to pace the news out better without giving anything away.Chuquita wrote:

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I agree. They announced BOG in July, but they had stuff ready to go a lot sooner too. Waiting to reveal they were making a sequel could have waited until closer to the end of the year.sintzu wrote:What they should have done was announce the movie in November instead of July, that way they would have been able to pace the news out better without giving anything away.Chuquita wrote:

It updated, but it looks like mostly promo stuff that we already know.Doctor. wrote:Has the blog been updated with today's entry? This thread always gains a huge amount of pages when I go to sleep so pardon me if I don' go to check.
One interesting thing is it reads like Amazon might have advance tickets, but I'm not sure.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
One of the things that I have noticed is that the vast majority of the footage and images that been released up to yet all seem to revolve around the Z Fighters battle with Frieza and his goons.
We've seen very little of Goku and Vegeta on Beerus' planet and next to nothing else that isn't related to the battle. I get the sense that the fighting is going to take up the last three quarters of the movie or something.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
It is sad that the SSG form is no longer relevant at all. It was starting to grow on me especially when I saw Goku access the power by himself. But the current AT wants to take away transformations in general. Back 20+ years ago he approved of the SS4 form due to how it was inspired by the same source as Dragon Ball in general.sintzu wrote:We'll get a look at how they're training goes in the next manga chapter.Bullza wrote:We've seen very little of Goku and Vegeta on Beerus' planet and next to nothing else that isn't related to the battle. I'm not exactly in the position of demanding anything, but could you please continue this Toriyama's-control-over-his-franchise discussion in another thread? I've been skipping lots of pages trying to find news.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Seconded. It really does look like it should have its own thread.
