Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

This is true. You can tell and confirm this if you pay attention to, what I like to call, "new generation". For them, only battles. Nothing more.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I'd think Funi would wait until Limited Edition was released so that if there is any extra material, they can have time to dub it properly.

Resurrection F sounds weird. Why leave out the "of"?
Freeza in the Trunks saga wasn't brought back so much as he was just concluded.
Concluded? Freeza got taken out buy Trunks in ONE chapter. That's not a conclusion, that's bullshit. Maybe Toriyama thoughts so too hence why he brought him back.
Well, this has got to be the record now, no? This is the very first time that the Funi dub for a Dragon Ball product has been announced before the Japanese release. This also means that it beats Battle of Gods for shortest gap between Japanese and English releases. The longest gap is Curse of the Blood Rubies, at 24 years. Oldest movie has longest gap, and newest has the shortest gap.
The name Resurrection F is a good choice! Short, and straight to the point, as well as accurate to the original. Chris Ayres will no doubt return as Frieza for this one. It'll also be interesting to see who they cast for Jaco.

How was it so much faster this time around?
Not complaining of course, just curious. Can't wait to see this in theaters!
I think it has to do with 20th Century Fox not being assholes by not withholding the rights to RoF like they did with BoG
The point is we've had villains brought back in some shape or form numerous times. This idea has been used to death in this franchise. Trying to hide behind "Canon" is a shitty excuse to discount this is Freeza's 6TH TIME returning. That means the idea of Freeza's return has been utilized numerous times. Doesn't matter if only now he's a threat again, fact is we've had Freeza return a whole bunch when we had a satisfying conclusion for him with Goku, and then Freeza passed the villain torch to the cyborgs. He played his role and we moved on. Now we're regressing back to him.
There's no "excuse" about it, it doesn't matter how many times they bring him back him back if it's not actually canon and never really happened as part of the story.
Frieza was arguably brought back just once and you can't really say he was brought back because like I said he was just concluded. Cell was never brought back. Buu was never brought back. Piccolo was never brought back because he was never fully wrapped up to begin with and they continued where they left off with Piccolo Jr.
And again the times that these characters were brought back in the non canon material they were fodder.
They've done nothing like this before canonically.
