Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Young shouldn't be anywhere near Lord Freeza!
I'm with Chris all the way!
Amen to that. Ayres voices Freeza to perfection and I'm sure he will return to voice him in Resurrection F.

"Ride 'em cowboy, giddyup, yee-haw!"
"Come and get me, big boy."
"Whoops, pop goes the weasel."
"I need a countdown, please."
All combined with that chain-smoking grandmother voice, that earsplitting laugh, and the fact that she made Freeza sound like he spent more time hitting on Goku than fighting him.
To be fair, I love those quotes. Saying those things while stabbing someone or blowing someone up is the most psychopathic and sadistic thing anyone can do. It's something I expect from the Joker.

The countdown was funny. And the laugh is what I came to know Frieza for.

That said, Ayres is still a million times better.

Putting aside that a LOOOOT of folks, especially here, will disagree with you about Young as Freeza, there's no need to go insulting people. Please avoid that.

Yeah, the deranged, self-amused type of sadistic is something you'd definitely expect from Joker, and fitting for other characters like him. But that's not Freeza's style. Freeza's the type of monster who's verbose, typically calm, and speaks with a faux sense of courtesy. He'll raise a hand to his mouth to chuckle to himself, feed you a false compliment while attaching a proper title/honorific to your name... and then shoot you through the heart.

I think its unfair people judge the voice by linking it to those quotes. Linda Young had nothing to do with writing the script...

I prefer Young as the Ayres voice just sounds so bratty to me and I hate that. But to each their own.

It really is (though I don't think anyone means it to be taken as if she was), and I am of the school of thought that Young probably would have sounded a lot better in Kai than she did in Z (though still not as good as Ayres does now) had she kept the role, but alas - it is what it is.

To be fair, Freeza is kind of a brat. :P

Also, HOLY CRAP. I can't believe they'd get it this early, oh man. The fact that we'll be getting it so much sooner definitely has me excited, even if I do somewhat dread having to double dip probably if we end up getting an extended version later.

Part of the problem, though, is that Young couldn't keep up with the script. That's one reason she was replaced.

Yeah, I know. I should've been more clear though, I was speaking purely hypothetically, like 'if she'd been able to keep up and therefore had been able to keep the role in Kai'.

I hate to be "that guy," but technically, Ayers hasn't been confirmed as Freeza yet. Chris Sabat, being the director, is very high up on the food chain, but not at the top. He could be overruled. So we haven't received confirmation of Ayers being involved so much as we have a very strong, very credible hint. On the other hand, I'd be pretty damn shocked if Ayers wasn't cast, after that hint.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

"Resurrection F" makes no sense, why leave out the "of"?

"Resurrection of F" is perfectly acceptable no?

I dunno, I kind of like Resurrection 'F' myself, at least assuming they really do have it as 'F' and not just F. The of just sounds weird for some reason, even if it's pretty much a literal translation.

I suppose they could have also gone with Resurrection: F, but that sounds too much like a spy mission or something.

Honestly, I would've rather preferred that they renamed the film to "Dragon Ball Z: The Revival of Frieza" or "Frieza's Resurrection." Resurrection 'F' sounds a little ridiculous, imo.

Should have gone old school:

"Dial F for Resurrection"

But, joking aside, it's not a bad title. Just not the most proper sounding title choice.

"F" instead of just his name always made it sound like a spy movie, regardless of whether it's preceded by "Revival of" or just "Resurrection". It's like F is some secret code word, why can't it just be Freeza? :P

All of those titles sound way too generic.

They are a lot better than Resurrection F though, that just sounds stupid.

Surprised we're getting this movie a lot sooner than we did for BoG, but if Linda gets to voice Freeza in this movie I won't watch the dub, and I'll just wait for the Blu-Ray and watch it subbed as I think she is not a good Freeza as she makes it to the point where you can't take him seriously as a villain whereas Chris Ayres does a fantastic job at making Freeza a badass villain.

It could be in large part due to the success of Battle of Gods.

Does anyone else think "she couldn't keep up with the script" was Sabat's polite excuse for canning her?

While I agree that Ayres is better, especially as Freeza, I've never been big on your line of reasoning. Do you need to go to the Cordon Bleu to criticize someone's cooking?

Honestly, I kind of hope it's the truth and not just a polite excuse, because...well, say what you will about her work one way or the other, she was announced to be reprising, and then suddenly wasn't. If it was just them backing off without some kind of reason, then that just doesn't sit well with me (kind of the way the other Z cast were basically let go without being told, at all).
