GT is a sequel to the animated series but these movies are being written as continuations of the manga.

It's on the dance alone that shows character development. It's why he did it, the circumstances that he was under, and what it cost him (his pride). Context his everything here. If he were to just up and go "Hey, time to do a jig!" and started strutting on stage for no reason then, no, that wouldn't be development. But the context of his Bingo dance in the film is.

You kidding. A clash between Goku and Freeza's ultimate forms would bring the hype. Agreed about Gotenks since he's not that popular or the main character. I bet tons of people will be disappointed if Goku doesn't go Super something as Super Saiyan played a huge role in the Freeza arc. Besides more forms means more bucks. They can make base Goku, God Goku, Super Saiyan Goku figures, and all that junk.

Vegeta being the one to fight and possibly defeat Frieza has already brought the hype and got a lot of people talking.

I don't know why anyone would be disappointed about Goku not turning Super Saiyan it's been seen so many times, dozens of episodes, half the movies, the OVA's, all the games. I can see why people might be disappointed if he doesn't turn into a Super Saiyan God because that's still relatively new but the Super Saiyan that's constantly been around not being in just one movie? I don't know what kind of figures were made for Battle of Gods but I can't imagine they made all different versions like of Goku even though he went through all the forms in the movie.

Gold Freezer, Jaco, Tagoma, Bulma, Roshi, Tien, Gohan, Goku, Vegeta and Sorbet make 10 new figures right there at the least.

I say this because of the scene where Beerus walks up to base Goku checks him out and says he couldn't beat Freeza like this.
Now in RF we indeed have have Freeza kicking the crap out of Goku in his new base form.

Many people will be disappointed not seeing Goku go SSJ. It's an iconic aspect of the series. I can already see dozens ask "why isn't Goku going SSJ?! Of course he's losing! wtf" This is bound to alienate casual fans. Honestly, it's a concept that's hard to understand even among hardcore fans because Goku was clearly a SSJ when he fought Beerus.

SSJG is too new of a concept for people to care about, especially since its design was panned by a majority of people.

A battle of ultimate forms is something people would want to see. Also the Super Saiyan legend played a big part in Freeza's own arc. To not have it at all, much less Super Saiyan God would be a wasted opportunity. Speaking of Vegeta who wouldn't want to see the Super Saiyan God fight Golden Freeza. Base Goku and Vegeta are not nearly as interesting as having the ultimate saiyan form be in a fight.

How could they not? They can make a regular Goku, SSJ Goku, SSJG Goku, Beerus, Vegeta, SSJ Vegeta, etc. More forms means more merch.

Hell considering how easy it'd be to sell SSJ God Goku and Vegeta on top of Base form would be easy. Just recolour the figure's hair and there's the easy second form figure you can sell.

This is one of the things that gets me. Based on how we know Toriyama does this stuff....it just doesn't seem at all like it was planned this way. But regardless, it works really well I think. It's his signature "writing from the seat of his pants" style giving the illusion of foreshadowing.

I can't believe we're getting an English dub so soon. Man, I figured it would be at least a year before any sort of English release. This is great. Not even gonna watch the Japanese dub now. Just gonna eat the spoilers right up and wait for the English release

I was hoping it would be called Resurrection F! That's such a cool, unique, and badass sounding title. Has an awesome ring to it too.

I am personally amazed at how quickly Funimation is getting this movie out into theaters. I never expected them to actually get it out so quick! And no fair only LA gets a subtitled premiere? How about NYC!! Haha. East coast represent! I am thrilled by how quickly we will get it dubbed. But I would also like to see it subtitled!

And that's something that will be explained in the movie, even we don't know what the final actual reason is for the lack of Super Saiyan in the movie. It's not going to put people off of seeing it that otherwise would have.

Most people will probably realise that there's a reason behind it if they saw the last movie and it was explained Goku couldn't beat Frieza in base form and yet he's fighting a stronger version of Frieza in this movie in his base form. There should be a bit of common sense involved here.

Maybe so but Goku fighting him in base instead isn't going to affect the movies gross in any significant way. Introducing the form in the last movie will but having it again when it's no longer new won't.

I'm sure there's a limit on what these companies want to make and what they think will sell. I know personally that if all three were available to buy then I would only buy the one. I wouldn't pay money for the same thing again except this one has different coloured hair.

If anything they should just multiple detachable heads in with the toy that you can swap.
