Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I wouldn't be surprised if it's F they're dubbing either.
I do plan to watch the dub at some point; but I really want to see the sub first (and even more than both, I want to know more plot info.)
Just one or two more days til VJump leaks!

Let his son? I'm sure his son would be the one that would have to decide that. Perhaps his son doesn't want to?GokuRules987 wrote:If Akira toriyama cant keep up with being a mangaka why cant he let his son be a mangaka? hell he could probably draw and continue the legacy of his dad's story franchise, I mean how cool would that be?Sora Saiyan wrote:There's more to it than that. He mentions all kinds of information linking BoG with the manga, he even talks about a lot of this stuff in the Q&As of the full colour manga. In the manga Jaco the galactic patrolman he even has SSJ God mentioned.Suupaa Gohan 2 wrote:Except there is, because nowhere does he actually state anything along the lines of "this is an official continuation of the original manga". Until he does, everything would seem to be open to interpretation.
I'm sure Toriyama has mentioned before how he just can't keep up with being a mangaka anymore, but if Toriyama decides this story is a part of his 'canon' it doesn't matter that it's animated its just his story put into animation which means less workload for the man since he can't keep up now. Another thing I think he said before was that he can obsess over the smallest bits of dialogue because he doesn't have to draw, and he even said that was exhausting.
Now you don't have to consider it canon, but with everything we've heard off Toriyama he sure as hell puts it with his own 'canon'.

People arent just born to become destined what they are. They are often influenced by their parents, grandparents and some times other close relatives. Like a family that has a huge history of military career or being movie actors, there is a high chance that their kids will end up doing the same thing in their life. Now just imagine Toriyama kids know their dad is a famous manga artist, their mother is also a former manga artist, from that you can tell there is a huge chance that their kids would grow up and end up doing what their parents did. Its a common sense.bleed0range wrote: Let his son? I'm sure his son would be the one that would have to decide that. Perhaps his son doesn't want to?

I'm aware of all that. I was pointing out how ridiculous it sounds to phrase it in such a way that Toriyama would let his son do it. In other words you phrased it without giving regard to whether or not his son would even want to do it... or consideration of whether or not they might even have the talent to draw as well... etc.GokuRules987 wrote:People arent just born to become destined what they are. I don't even know if Toriyama has kids, but if he does and they did follow in his footsteps I doubt they would want to alter or add to the DB franchise.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I also doubt either of his kids would continue the franchise in his place.
The son's name is Sasuke (born around the time the "Z" portion was starting), and there's a daughter several years younger than him (I think they had her near the end of the manga's run?) who was the one showing friends pictures of rl!Beerus and being told how their cat is so un-cute.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Get the feeling I may have missed a few posts after FUNimation's big announcement:

That's awesome.

We now have a cardboard Freeza head to go along with the Super Saiyan Goku hair that seems to have been quite popular in the past couple of years:

That Golden Freeza meal! The fan art have come true! XD
The strawberry ice cream looks really good. I don't get the tie in pun for it though.
Is it because of Bulma's almost wish from the beginning of series? Is it for ssjg Gokû because of his hair? :3

IIRC it's supposed be Beerus' new food obsession, replacing pudding. Herms mentioned it in this post:Chuquita wrote:That Golden Freeza meal! The fan art have come true! XD

Herms wrote:No, it's a Fukkatsu no F tie-in event that'll run at J World from March 21st to May 10th. There'll be a thing where you can look for the dragon balls (to save Earth from colliding with a swarm of meteorites), guys dressed as Mister Satan and Boo perform a short skit, there's FnF-themed food (a Freeza-style purple-and-white blueberry cake, etc), a rock-paper-scissors tournament with Freeza as special guess...you can even get your photo taken with Freeza. Doesn't look like there's anything about actually showing the movie at the park though.Chuquita wrote:Does this say that J World in Tokyo is going to run Fukkatsu no F on the 21st of March?! Oh, and as part of the movie-themed foods, it mentions that a strawberry sundae will feature in the film, apparently as Beerus' latest snack.

Ice cream?
Well ice cream is delicious. :3
And since Beerus is a cat, cats (supposedly?) like cream -> ice cream is kind of a cream -> cats like ice cream(?).

Going under the assumption that they are dubbing the film now, what are the odds we'll see the summer release in May-early June? Going off of how Battle of Gods was dubbed, Schemmel tweeted that picture of the extended cut in late June, the Red carpet release was in early July, and the theatrical release was in early August.

Methinks you're assuming a little too much about Sasuke Toriyama's wishes, here. If he wanted to, then sure, but who's to say he didn't want to do something completely different as a career? (Not that he has to do anything, of course, with his family's finances being what they are.) I mean, he's just about 28 by now, so he must be doing something with his life.

What translation? did I miss something?Big Momma wrote:My Japanese isn't the best, and I'm not trying to go against Kei's awesome translation. But the quote from the interview is: マンガで連載していた時の続きのつもりで新ストーリーを考えました。 He uses "つもり", which I was taught can imply "intentions" and "plan to/are going to". And it comes off, to me at least, as a very concrete word. But I could be wrong, of course.

The fast food tie-in appears at last, although not half as cool as the KFC stuff from last time.

Although it doesn't look like the meals have any relation with the characters this time around. No SSG ketchup nor Golden Freeza nugget :/

It's possible KFC's marketing people were responsible for those ideas, and therefore have a claim to preventing them being replicated like-for-like by other companies.EA575 wrote:For some reason, I've been waiting for thisDragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:

Oh man, I had completely forgotten about Kenji Utsumi's passing until this announcement came up.
We've had Shenron in other stuff since then though, haven't we? At the very least there's Xenoverse, had Otomo already picked up the role there? Or have they been re-using Utsumi audio up until now (akin to what the Persona series has been doing for Igor, since Isamu Tanonaka's passing)?

"Resurrection [F]" makes me think "resurrection fail" which is so perfect considering how Toyotarō depicted Freeza being resurrected by Shenlong
"You might think you know everything there is to know about me, but really, you're not even CLOSE."

How I enjoy the anime:

I think Ootomo voiced Shen Long in Dragon Ball Kai after a while.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Oh man, I had completely forgotten about Kenji Utsumi's passing until this announcement came up.We've had Shenron in other stuff since then though, haven't we?
