Resurrection F poll
Given the current negativity around the movie, I've decided to start a poll to see whether people really don't like the movie to the point where they will not watch it or whether they are cautious about the film and will watch it to give a proper judgement of the movie. So the question really is simple, will you see Resurrection F this summer in the theaters?
Yes - 22
No - 7
Maybe - 4
I'll buy it later on DVD/Blu-Ray, just for my collection - 5

No, I am Italian
Re: Resurrection F poll
I don't think Kanzenshuu allows poll threads, but my answer will be no, because I don't think it'll be released in my country(Denmark).

Re: Resurrection F poll
Not big on the FUNi cast so probly not
But I am excited for the movie
Re: Resurrection F poll
Yes, I will see it in theaters, multiple times if I'm able.
I feel this is going to be a similar situation as X-Men: Days of Futures Past, wherein the ludicrous fanboys drug it through the mud during preproduction, only to be served a massive dish of crow when they actually saw it.

Wow, suddenly there are a lot of brazilians around here. Lol. Anyway.
I'll watch the movie but with caution. I think the movie will be epic, but the absence of Son Goten, Trunks and Majin Buu and Freeza coming back and having a really ugly alternate fourth form... I hope those specific points turn out to be the only bad things about the movie.

Re: Resurrection F poll
I watch anything Dragonball related so definitely! but I won't be watching it in the theater because it won't release in my area so I'll more than likely be buying the Japanese CE if there is one? and the Funimation release when they bring it out. Don't really know why I would be cautious about it?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Current negativity? If Kanzenshuu's anything to go by, I'd say people sound pretty excited. I know I am! I'll see it in theaters and get it on home video.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Yeah, seeing BoG in theaters was a blast! I can't wait for Freeza on the big screen!

Re: Resurrection F poll
I sure hope I'm able to! The Japanese vocal track is my preference, but I'll gladly watch the English dub if that's the only version I get to see in theaters. I just hope the showtimes are available for us late evening people. I really wanted to see Battle of Gods, but I wasn't available at those early showtimes.
Re: Resurrection F poll
It depends on if Funi releases it in a theater close to me this time or not. I would love to go see Resurrection F in a big theater full of fellow fans, but as big of a DB/DBZ fan that I am, I do not currently have the time or money to drive several hundred miles away from home just to see two hour movie.
Re: Resurrection F poll
Yes, I plan to see the movie in theatres in Japan at the start of May when I go there on Holiday.
Re: Resurrection F poll
Yes unless the movie somehow becomes a colossal failure. I don't think that will happen, but if it somehow pulls a Sonic...then I won't go to see it in theaters.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Yes, I will see in in the theaters.
Of course, that depends on it being shown in a theater relatively close to me. I am not about to travel hundreds of miles just to go see a movie.

No, but I'll buy the japanese dvd for sure.

Re: Resurrection F poll
Going to buy the blu ray. Probably not going to theaters, but not because of the movie, but because I both want to see it subbed first, and because I don't want to end up with an unpleasant theater audience.
On hiatus.

Re: Resurrection F poll
No. Though, I wouldn't see any DB movie in theaters, even if it turned out to be good (unlike RF, which is shaping up to be complete garbage).

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Hell to the yes.

Gohan deserves it.

Re: Resurrection F poll
Ya know, I really wanted to watch BOG in the theater just for the simple fact that I can say I viewed a Dragonball Z movie in theaters.
Though they only had three showings for one week and that was it. I'll definitely be seeing ROF at the movies and purchasing the blu ray when it's out.
