The people bashing this movie are hilarious. We finally, FINALLY get more focus on Tien, Krillin, Piccolo, and even freaking ROSHI of all people coming back to join in the fight, but people continue to bitch if their favorite character isn't going to get any spotlight in this film. So you know what? I'm going to bitch that the Mummy guy from Baba's Palace isn't in this movie, and because of that, Toriyama is lazy and stupid and he's ruining the franchise.

He'll soon surpass Whis if he trains for a year. Also apparently he knew Buu&Beerus(?) existed and their power was far greater than his yet he didn't train. Why was he afraid of SSJ? If training benefited that much then why did mecha freeza get wrecked when he first got to Earth? Or did he not train at all and wanted to face Goku and get killed again. I just don't understand
Mecha Freeza was supposed to be powered up compared to standard Freeza, but the last time Gohan mentions his power it seems like he wasn't even near his full power in Namek. He died by his own arrogance (and Trunks killing him too quickly and not allowing him to power up). Or at least, that works in the manga where their battle was very brief. It doesn't really fit with the extended battle in the anime.

People want all of them to participate in some way. They are glad that the humans have some relevance in the movie but they also want the kids and Buu to have relevance. Your example is hardly comparable.

I wonder how strong Tien has become over the years. Who knows, maybe at this point he actually would be able to down right kill semi perfect Cell with his Tri Beam if he had another chance.

Also, anyone else think this thread might hit 1,000 pages by the time the movie is released?

It'll probably reach more thanks to all the movie's details leaking from the advanced screening.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

By the country wide release in Japan, probably, but not by the early screenings on the 30th unless something really big happens between now and then.
On hiatus.

Still weaker than Krillin.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Tien becomes the legendary super human and can take on both Beerus and Whis with one hand behind his back; still weaker than Krillin.

Thanks for the translation. That banter with Goku and Vegeta is gold! It seems right in line with "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!" which is exactly what I wanted!

Having any more characters than need be would force them to get them to have more screen time. They need screen time or else them being there would be pointless. For Fukkatsu No F, they'd need the film to be longer (which it's already pretty long), add more scenes of Goten and Trunks, and that's just a lot of extra money for...what? Are those scenes they added really needed? Not really. They're adding nothing (obviously if they're not even planned to be in the film). Toriyama did do some fan-pleasing with the addition of Roshi and Tien. But Jesus, the guy can't include everyone. And people need to understand that.

I'm still surprised that Tenshinhan's panel made it online before before the Gokû and Vegeta training under Whis stuff (which still hasn't appeared outside half a page by accident on a YouTube video).

Goku and Bejita, back to basic hahaha
Whis: “No, in cases like this I simply do things over again”
Goku: “Do it over again?”
Whis: “I just turn back time a little bit to before he messed up, and give him a good smack.”
Maybe Whis bring back the earth after it got destroyed.
And thx for the better translation, the last part cleared things up with Jaco spaceship arriving and not Goku.

Actually, the time they waste explaining why they aren't there is around the same time they would waste in just having them on the background and have a scene a few seconds long for each of them fighting soldiers. And that would be much better than the excuses that have surfaced for them to be missing. So, I disagree.

So is there going to be any kind of explanation as to why Vegeta is able to keep up with Goku in his fight with Whis?

By the end of Battle of Gods Goku was that far above him that it wasn't even funny but going by this chapter it almost makes them look to be on the same level. Do you think Vegeta went through the Super Saiyan God ritual himself between movies?

If Goten and Trunks aren't in the movie then he can't turn into one during the movie.

It's definitely ssjg form that appears super-imposed behind Gokû during that one attack. =u=
I wonder how that's gonna look in the movie? That's a definite manga-style effect. Will it match? Will he flash into it briefly?
I'm so happy the eye style for ssjg is different than regular ssj; with how his hair's blowing and how he's angled I wouldn't have been able to tell which form otherwise with not being in color.

How do you know, are the scans of that scene out yet?
