That was a better "serious" dub of the Trunks special than FUNimation's.

That Evangelion music placement was really nice. Great job, guys! Best special yet!

Future Bulma and Future Chi-Chi were hilarious. "Will dinner bring my husband back?!" "Maybe?!" (The Ox-King has a point. This is Goku we're talking about.)

I also loved all of the references to past TFS episodes and #17 wanting to become a park ranger. ;) Oh, and everyone called them cyborgs! It truly was a different universe, lol.

Overall, this special gets an A+ from me. I feel like you guys managed to balance the humor and post-apocalyptic drama perfectly. Great editing as usual, Kaiser! Everything flowed well and the music choices were top-notch (couldn't help but smile at the Chrono Trigger song at the theme park).

MasakoX did the opening and ending animations, right? Those were really awesome, particularly the ending with the time machine traveling to the main DBZA timeline... so kudos to him. You guys put a lot of effort into "History of Trunks" and it shows!

Is the "Hello, my name is Trunks... and this is my story." line different? It sounded better in the trailer.

Fantastic as always, though.

Trunks' narration was a lot of fun; also liked the park ranger bit, Gohan talking to Piccolo in his head, wanting Trunks to call him "Mr. Gohan", Bulma hitting on Gohan, the bit about which type of time travel would happen, the well-done cgi'd Dr. Who parody at the end credits, Chi-Chi's non-coping with how things with Gohan are going, Gohan living in the desert/mountains. It was very solid.
On hiatus.

Won't lie, by the end of the movie? We felt like it was going on a bit too long and we needed to wrap things up. It does lose a little bit of steam, but I can tell you, we definitely worked our asses off on this one, top to bottom. It was a toughie.
Considering how you seemed to be feeling, I don't blame you. It's still was fantastic and did amazing without all the power comedy characters like Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, etc. That's proof alone that you guys can still make something great even without a lot of the funniest characters of the series. Loved the continuity nods and even though I totally saw the park ranger reference coming a mile away the second 17 & 18 were alone, it was much appreciated. I got to watch it again and again now to see things I may have missed or didn't notice. My first viewing was at 4am.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I think my favorite parts were easily how you worked Gohan's character, the USS M'Dick bit, and the use of the Six Flags theme. Great job as always guys!

Oh yeah, and really appreciated the tribute to Monty too. I've only recently become a fan of RWBY, but my girlfriend has been a fan of it (and tons of other RoosterTeeth) stuff for ages now, so I know she'll really appreciate that too.

That was so awesome! It was great how you guys kept the serious tone even with the comedy. There were many great scenes but my favorite was probably when Trunks asked Gohan if he remembers a better time. I never realized Gohan's life was pretty much always like this .

I like those radio announcers, I remember them from the episode with Cell. I hope they become recurring characters.

As soon as Gohan said Trunks was his pupil I was expecting the dodge gag and I was not disappointed

The Tapion joke was also funny, because I never understood why people thought Future Trunks sword was the same one as the one in Movie 13...

The ending song mix was nice too

Not to mention the ending theme of the movie does start off showing us Future Trunks with the sword, which is pretty random. It's pretty obvious they meant it to at least evoke it being the same sword...even...if it kinda...totally can't be...for like a bajillion reasons...

It's one of the only things I dislike about that movie, cuz holy can of worms.

So many good bits. I'd have to say that my favorite was the Vegeta flashback:

Vegeta: [punching Gohan] SO WHAT!? YOU THINK THAT HAVING A DAD WHO'S A SUPER SAIYAN MAKES YOU BETTER THAN ME!?
Gohan: Noooooo!
Vegeta: WRONG ANSWER! [continues beating him]

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

As expected I loved it. Ticked all the right boxes for me, lots of references to past episodes and nods to in-universe things such as 17 wanting to be a park ranger, Trunks having Tapion's sword, etc.

Bulma and Chi Chi were hilarious, Bulma's always been one of my favourite abridged characters, can't wait to see the next episode now!

This was freaking awesome! I haven't watched any DBZA in a while so it was refreshing to die of laughter. Even though I felt it did lose a little bit of steam near the end, it didn't bother me.

I do have a question. Does anyone know the song that plays around 2:31 when Bulma changes the station of the radio?

Honestly, I didn't laugh a whole lot, but considering how dark the source material is, I think you guys probably did the best job you could have done.

I was, however, extremely impressed how you handled some of the more serious scenes. The Super Saiyan transformation was so well acted. Easily better than any currently existing dub efforts.
