Re: Is Dragon Ball becoming too soft?
I feel the new movie will have more grit than Battle of Gods, but honestly, I'm not sure if I want some Freeza Arc style battle damage. While I do want to have some cool blood and/or battle damage (ripped shirts FTW), I don't want guys coughing up blood like when your accidently swallow too much water. I'll be fine with a couple busted lips and scratches as long as the battle is taken seriously.

i am on an old mobile phone its a technical problem ..i got fed up it's not doing what i want ....as for my respond "ok"...i wrote it needs more fighting ..he said it is enough fighting, at least i think he meant that by saying "half of it is fighting" .....well ok i like more and he dont ..the end.Big Momma wrote:You should probably type more than "ok" if you're going to respond. A one-word reply doesn't really add much.
(Why did you submit a post simply quoting yourself?)tx3 wrote:tx3 wrote:dont get me wrong guys i dont like BoG but i would not say it's terrible ..just ok..nothing special.
what we all agree on is ...that Dragonball needs more fighting and less ...well everything that is not fighting ..except humor ..humor belongs to Dragonball ...but no more dancing Vegetas please XD. right?
As for what you said, I'd imagine a good number of people disagree. The entire story is "Dragon Ball", even the "Z" part. It's all the same story. And it has plenty of it's own humor. I love the fighting, too. But I would love for more of the humor to come back. I would love for the series to not take itself so seriously.

Yes, really. Oda does draw a lot of his characters ripped. Even more now than when he started. Sometimes I'm even surprised at how toned Luffy can be.tx3 wrote:lol really?Mystic Tenshinhan wrote:tx3 wrote:so i once read in a interview with toriyama that his kids like One piece way more than dragonball ...well taste can be different but! here is the thing toriyama actually did go with his artstyle in the direction of one piece which means less muscle less buff dudes as seen in his most recent artworksHighly doubt it. also, it should be noted that Dragonball is usually softer than One Piece already. OP can get dark.Big Momma wrote:tx3 wrote:

Plus, fun fact: Eiichiro Oda has stated that he thinks of Dragonball as the embodyment of childhood dreams, and is striving to make his series MANLY

Re: Is Dragon Ball becoming too soft?
are u for real? no offense but showing me one or two buffed character is showing nothing, it's about the general theme of character designe Oda use ..which are skinny people ruffy, zoro, sanji lisop...all of them...
think about it, how many buffed heros u see nowadays compared to the 90's?..bingo! almost none ..maybe some side characters
toriyama is doing nothing other than following the trend.
point proved case closed.

Re: Is Dragon Ball becoming too soft?
Ussop is in basically a gag scene, Zoro has always been ripped but not large, and Chopper is in his special muscle form. These show their normal/most common appearances:

Re: Is Dragon Ball becoming too soft?
maybe we define buffed different...but less muscle dont mean a softer DB after all ..actually there is just a minimal relation between thoes two ..the actual softness of DB is mostly seen in Fight with less Blood and less injuries. I still think GT was planed as a kids show less mature than Z ..and that style was later on keept in the Movies ...Son Goku and his friends .guess was the name of that movie .movie where Vegeta meets his brother (which is ....u know Bullshit) but also in BoG.rereboy wrote:Ussop is in basically a gag scene, Zoro has always been ripped but not large, and Chopper is in his special muscle form. Kids rule DB ..it is what it is
also thank you for clarifying him why i could not take his pics as prove

Re: Is Dragon Ball becoming too soft?
Still both Usopp and Zoro are more buffed than they were before time-skip (if we don't count some special techniques of Zoro which made him more buffed during the fight). So I disagree that everyone looks more skinny now. And I also disagree that characters becoming skinnier in new DBZ movies has something to do with One Piece. Oda is a fan of Toriyama, not the other way around.rereboy wrote:Ussop is in basically a gag scene, Zoro has always been ripped but not large, and Chopper is in his special muscle form. And while it is most common appearance of Chopper, it is not his real one. Here is his real and original one -
