Fusion Reborn Airs on CN Tonight

Post by DaemonCorps » Sat Nov 11, 2006 3:02 pm

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the podcast to air at a later date, but apparently, Fusion Reborn will air tonight. Strangely enough, Comcast lists Masako Nozawa and Takeshi Kusao in the description of the movie. Though I won't be surprised if it ends up being the dub version.

Anyways, yeah, if you're curious, it'll be on Cartoon Network starting at 9:30 and ending at 11:00 (right after the latest dub of Naruto).

Sound fun... :? I wonder if they are going to cut out any scenes because its going to be on TV? Do you think the Hitler scene is suitable for the Cartoon Network?

Well, Hitler is a big chunk of the movie. I mean, without him, Trunks and Goten would have nothing to do in the movie... and they would hardly appear... and the Gogeta fusion nicely intercuts with Gotenks being formed. :?

Well, as I said in some other 'Fusion Reborn being on CN discussion' (one of the podcast threads, I think), Toonami has easened up in terms of censorship. I mean, did you check out the latest Naruto episodes? They barely touched the "Sexy Jutsu" scenes (they paused the clouds at times so they would cover up more, but that's pretty much it).

I doubt the Hitler scene will be taken out, since Hitler was mentioned in one of the Ultimate Avengers movies when it aired on CN a couple weeks ago.

I'm TiVoing this just to see how Hitler's going to be handled... :p and will some of those homo-erotic lines be changed for broadcast? Heh heh...

After hearing something about DragonBall in Germany, how do you think the "dicator" scene over there? Would they still call him dicator or would they use the dreaded h-word (not the usual one)? :)

I'm such a retard... I totally forgot to Tivo this... fortunately (Well... I guess that depends on how you look at it. XD) I got downstairs one minute into the movie...

Movie 13 comes on next week, right? *makes mental note*

And, yes, I do realize that I'm pretty lame for watching the dub instead of paying for the DVDs... but I'm saving for a Wii... so that sorta offsets it... right?

Actually I heard the dictator scenes were taken out of European versions of the movie.

Maybe I missed it, but did they cut out the scene of Hitler commanding his army?

Yeah. They actually keep shots of the army tanks, just not the scene of "him" talking.

The dub is pretty bad so far. Why didn't this come out like the re-dub of season 1 and 2? =/

Yeah and "SATAN" graffiti in the background.

I think they cut out the Romeo and Julianne scene though - wonder why??

Not to be racist or anything, but Americans, especially parents of impressionable children, are extremely touchy on almost anything that has the slightest possibility of causing negative thoughts. Plus it's on Cartoon Network at an hour where kids might not be asleep yet. Making fun of (Extremely Evil) Dictators and popular Shakespearean characters would make parents ballistic. You don't see people react like that that in Taiwan, Japan, or in any other Asian country. People in America are just too touchy to notice that it's just some form of entertainment using elements parody.

Edit- The people on this board are all reasonable folks though.:)

And by the way Mosaic, isn't it Romeo and Juliano?

They COMPLETELY removed the Gotenks part. That's my only gripe with this movie being televised. I liked the music with Gogeta's appearance. It fits well.

Nothing about how Gogeta was the insturment of destruction or anything. This was the first time I had seen it. What a shitty way to first see it.

I don't see them making fun of hirohito or including the imperial Japanese flag either.

But on that note screw you Cartoon Network, next time don't even bother airing the movie.

The lack of "The Dictator" really disapointed me. But they cut out a lot more than that. I didn't notice one scene on earth after Gohan blew Freeza up. They cut so much, that even with commercials every 5 minutes, the movie still fit in an hour block. Sad. Did anyone else notice TV Guide gave it 90 minutes? They aired One Peice in the final half hour.

There were a few other things about the edited dub of Movie 12 that bothered me. Did anyone else notice these?

Shenron said "Next Dimention". After all these years, we still have to be reminded of that crap?

Was it just me, or did Goten sound very different than he usually does? I also thought Vegita sounded strange, but less so.

Pikuhan's cussing was pretty lame. But it was pretty lame in the origional too. I guess he's just a very polite guy.

Did Funimation make up all the stuff about Vegita hating Hell? I don't remember that from my old fansub. I remember a joke where he said he'd rather die than fuse with Goku, and was told by Goku he was already dead, was replaced by a Vegita hates Hell reference.

Veku's voice was just wrong. It seems they tried to make him sound as wacky as possible.

Despite the cuts, I still enjoyed it. Nice way to wind down after working all afternoon. I agree about Goten's voice sounding off. Mr. Schemmel's ssj3 scream was awesome in this. Was that one whole scream or do they edit that sorta thing together via multiple takes?
