Where would you want a future movie/arc/series to be set?
Besides the Majin Buu 10 year gap or shortly after EoZ.
Choices:
- Ancient era of the original super saiyan.
- Modern saiyan period (King Vegeta, Bardock, Tuffles, etc).
- Gap between the end of DB and start of DBZ.
- 7 year gap between the Cell Games and the Great Saiyaman saga.
- Post-GT
- DBO's time period (way into the future, but unrelated to GT)
- Dragon Ball Heroes era
- Future Trunks time / his beginnings as a Time Patrol agent
- Other (specify)

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Between DB and Z. 23rd tournament era is my favorite. The blend of battle styles is fun to watch. Dead Zone is the closest it gets, but I'd want it to be earlier than that.
On hiatus.

All of these choices are so tempting because of how interesting the character development would be.fadeddreams5 wrote:Besides the Majin Buu 10 year gap or shortly after EoZ.

My top choices:
- Ancient era of the original super saiyan. It is implied on plenty of the DBZ media that Saiyans were not native of Planet Plant. I guess the conflict was what destroyed the "Planet Saiya" in the first place and forced the remaining not so good saiyans to recolate.
- Modern saiyan period (King Vegeta, Bardock, Tuffles, etc). I want to see the events leading to the Saiyan-Tsufur war written by Toriyama. The team of Bardock and Gine, how King Vegeta rose to power... more details of Saiyan society...
Also...
- OTHER (After EoZ): the REAL passing of the torch to the new generation of Uub + Pan + Bra that would disregard GT. I guess a small miniseries with a comedic tone would be wonderful.

Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

Get back into space. There's still remnants of the PTO, as Yo! Son Goku proved, some are as strong as Freeza if not stronger, and according to Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, there is a space police. I wonder what wacky hijinks would ensue when some patrolman stop by Earth looking for training instructors for the ongoing space war, and only Goten and Trunks seem interested? Definitely Police Academy with Lasers would ensue.

I'd love for another movie set in the Dragon Ball Heroes era. Because it would just be a nice refreshing change of narrative as it would shift the focus of Dragon Ball to new and unique characters.

I've always wanted a Future Trunks continuation. I guess it kind of happened with DBO and Xenoverse huh.. I would love to see something more from that kind of thing. There was some great potential from DBO.
I wouldn't mind seeing something after end of Z. Retcon GT.

Re: Where would you want a future movie/arc/series to be set
Any timeskips in the story wouldn't really do it for me because we know no significant developments had occurred. The only timeskip I can think of that I'd like to have a mini-series or special based on is the one between the 21st TB and the 22nd. Roshi says the world is vast, and it truly is, but we don't really know what kind of threats and powerful foes were out there. By the time the Piccolo comes around, Goku is already too powerful for anyone else on Earth to be a match.
A series on the modern Saiyan times would, frankly, be predictable. Saiyans were evil, they hated Freeza, Bardock plotted a revolt, yadda yadda, we know all of this already from the massive filler, flashbacks and specials covering this. A story on ancient times, however, would be interesting, simply because of the original Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God, plus the prospect of new and interesting characters.
The Future storyline has plenty of potential, but I think the games did the best by going with the time patrol option.
My top choice would be, however, a story set back when Roshi and Tsuru-sennin were studying under Mutaito. I know the DB filler kinda addressed it, but eh, I'd like something better, preferably if they address who the God at the time was, how the personality of the original Namek was, etc.

I always forget that we're in total agreement on this, heh.Chuquita wrote:Between DB and Z. 23rd tournament era is my favorite. The blend of battle styles is fun to watch. Dead Zone is the closest it gets, but I'd want it to be earlier than that.
Likewise, I'd love to see something that's set in the timeskip between DB and Z. I'd also love to see something else tackle the post-Z era, especially if Toriyama was involved but since he doesn't seem too interested in that era really...
Beyond that, I'd like to see stuff jump all over the timeline and give us character back histories. Like via yearly TV specials kinda like Lupin the 3rd gets. C'mon Toei. Fulfill my dream!
