Weeeelll, I'm still betting that it was a different Bardock. Or maybe, Mira had added some time breaker curse for him to slowly turn into his Time Breaker form.

Well, things have changed from DBO because there wasn't any Demigra back then. So if it were DBO, Mira should have either appeared and saved him from Freeza's attack or he and Towa used some magic or something to zap him away the same as Demigra's wormhole did. Things obviously aren't happening the exact same way in Xenoverse, but I don't think there's any need for a "Time Breaker curse" to slowly enslave him or anything. Bardock was still alive at the end of the Secret Arc, so Mira (and Towa?) can just snatch and toss the mask on him later after Trunks "took care" of the mess left after that arc played out.

Especially possible if Trunks dropped him off to fight Chilled. =P

That's a great pity... I was so hyped for Dragon Ball in Xenoverse (Pilaf arc to the 23rd Budokai) as I knew they are borrowing from DBO.
Also, aside from the flying mechanics, the fights with sommersaults and techniques remind me a lot of the Dragon Ball, more than the later portions of Z.
I would definitely buy Xenoverse 2 with Dragon Ball stuff, tough I can see that I am in minority

Finally got past the Bardock teamup vs 15 PTOs. Anyone else stuck there, spam AoEs like Giant Storm or Vacation Delete, and have the Z-Soul "Why Yoooou!!!"

I used Ultra Fighting Bomber and my Z-Soul was "Heh, what dirty fireworks!" which really helped out a lot.

"Bwa Ha Ha! Got You!" helps you maintain SSJ(2) should you find yourself being swarmed by mobs like in the Bardock TMQ and second GT TMQ. Also helps sponge up a bit of damage as well, but yeah I actually never used an AOE and I managed to do just fine. Would definitely be a good idea for next time though. XD

I believe by "likes DB" he means "likes DB more than DBZ", which is a relatively rare animal among the English-speaking fandom. Hell, if it weren't for its perennial bad reputation, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more DBGT fans than DB fans.

Any product that has "Dragon Ball" labelled on it, irregardless of the inclusion of "Z", would sell. Z just has more recognition than the original DB. But Dragon Ball still sell well on its own.

That was the point you tried to make. Which was was grossly inaccurate. There are tens of millions of people who like Dragon Ball just a much as DBZ. America doesn't represent the entire Dragon Ball fanbase.

Well, I take both series as a one. in Germany and France, Z would never be a thing, if they didn't air DB first, which got popular and I remember the German marketing of Z,
as a sequel that was worth waiting for.I think the thing in Japan and more inclusion of Z is, that before 2000, the Z was airing in TV, so it's logical they made Z games (where there was not much room left for rich contents like nowadays).
With Budokai, it was stated that the game is actually made in Japan for US market, thus ending the game with Cell and including little extra with Great Saiyaman before that part started airing. And Dragon Ball was never much popular in US to begin with. It is also normal in all franchises, that with changing series, you usually include the likes and mechanics of the most recent or last part of the series development, which is Z as well.

So it is not outright clear, that fans do not like Dragon Ball except for US.

There was someone here that already did it. It was pretty cool, but "mod" itself just mods the already-existing character. I really wanna a real Evil Bardock.
